2022 France Sevens
The 2020 France Sevens was the thirteenth edition of the annual Sevens tournament held in France. It was the first time since 2019 (; suspended due to the impact of COVID-19) that the tournament was held in France, and the first time that the event was held in the southern city of Toulouse, Haute-Garonne at the Stade Ernest-Wallon. The tournament winners were Fiji, who won their fourth France Sevens event, and their second back-to-back tournaments. Fiji won the final against first-time Sevens Series finalists Ireland 29–17. Following the event, Argentina, Ireland, Fiji and hosts France jumped up one place on the series ladder, while Samoa, who finished fourth, jumped from fifteenth to tenth. Teams Canada and Kenya dropped two places, and the United States, finishing with their second-worst result of the series, dropped three places to sit seventh overall. 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series
The 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series was the 23rd annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The Sevens Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999. The series was won by , claiming their first World Series title. Second-placed South Africa opened the competition by winning the first four tournaments, with a 36 match winning streak that lasted until the 2022 Singapore Sevens where they were beaten by the United States in pool play, but they did not make the semifinals in any of the remaining events. There was no relegation required at the end of the season as the number of core teams was reduced when England, Scotland and Wales were combined to play as Great Britain for the 2022–23 series. United States National Rugby Sevens Team
The United States national rugby sevens team competes in international rugby sevens competitions. The national sevens team is organized by USA Rugby, and the team has been led by Head Coach Mike Friday since 2014. The main competition the team plays in every year is the World Rugby Sevens Series, a series of ten tournaments played around the globe from December to June that includes the USA Sevens tournament every spring. The Eagles have been a core team in the World Series and finished in the top twelve each season since 2008–09. The Eagles' best season in the Sevens Series has been a second-place finish in the 2018–19 Series. David Richard (born May 12, 2000) is a Canadian international rugby union player. A native of Milton, Ontario, Richard was educated at Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School. Richard, a centre and winger, specialises in rugby sevens, debuting for the national team in the 2018–19 season. He was capped for the Canada XV against Belgium in 2021 and made two more capped appearances the following year. Tom Bowen (born 31 January 1993) is an English rugby union player. Brighton born, Bowen took up rugby at the age of six in Lewes. Bowen joined Plymouth Albion in 2012 from Leicester Tigers, originally a centre, he switched to the wing, and scored 6 tries in his first 18 appearances in the RFU Championship, becoming Plymouth’s young player of the season for 2 seasons consecutively. He became Plymouth Albion’s top try-scorer for the 2013-14 season. Bowen made his England Sevens debut on the Gold Coast, Australia in October 2014. Alexander "Alex" Davis (born 3 October 1992) is an English rugby union player. He has represented the England national rugby sevens team. Early and personal life Davis was born in Gloucester, grew up in Bristol and he attended Queen Elizabeth's Hospital school in Clifton where he was also a keen cricketer. He went back and coached rugby at his old school during the COVID-19 pandemic. He later attended Loughborough University.
