2021 Scheldeprijs
The 2021 Scheldeprijs was the 109th edition of the Scheldeprijs road cycling one day race, which was held on 7 April 2021. It was a 1.Pro event on the 2021 UCI Europe Tour and the 2021 UCI ProSeries. The race, which was long, started in Terneuzen in the Netherlands and traveled through the windy fields of Zeeland before crossing the border into Belgium and finishing in Schoten on the outskirts of Antwerp. The Scheldeprijs is known as a race that particularly suits the sprinters as it includes several cobbled roads but no significant climbs. Defending champion Caleb Ewan () chose not to participate as he chose to rest to be able to participate in all three Grand Tours in 2021. Arnaud Démare would have started, but his team backed out on last instance due to a positive COVID-19 test within the team. 2021 UCI Europe Tour
The 2021 UCI Europe Tour was the 17th season of the UCI Europe Tour. The season began on 24 January 2021 with the Trofeo Luis Puig, Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969 – Gran Premio Valencia and ended on 24 October 2021 with the Ronde van Drenthe. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points are awarded to the top finishers; the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Caleb Ewan
Caleb Ewan (born 11 July 1994) is an Australian road and track bicycle racer who rides for UCI WorldTeam . A sprinter, Ewan has a style similar to that of Mark Cavendish, taking an extremely low position that offers him an aerodynamic advantage. Biography Caleb Ewan was born in New South Wales to a Korean mother and Australian father. At the age of eight he started bicycle racing, inspired by his father, who was also a competitive cyclist. He started competitive cycling at the age of ten. In 2010 he became the Junior National Road Race Champion. The next year he won multiple disciplines at the Junior National Track Championships and he became World Champion omnium at the Junior Track World Championships. The 2006 Scheldeprijs was the 94th edition of the Scheldeprijs road cycling one day race, held on 12 April 2006 as part of the 2005–06 UCI Europe Tour, as a 1.HC categorised race. Belgian rider Tom Boonen, in the rainbow jersey as the incumbent world champion, won the race in a bunch sprint for the team, ahead of teammate Steven de Jongh, while compatriot Gert Steegmans () completed the podium. Tom Boonen (; born 15 October 1980) is a Belgian former road bicycle racer, who competed as a professional between 2002 and 2017 for the and teams and a professional racing driver who currently competes in Belcar, having previously competed in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. Alexander Kristoff (born 5 July 1987) is a Norwegian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He won the Norwegian National Road Race Championships in 2007 and 2011.
