Caleb Ewan
Caleb Ewan (born 11 July 1994) is an Australian road and track bicycle racer who rides for UCI WorldTeam . A sprinter, Ewan has a style similar to that of Mark Cavendish, taking an extremely low position that offers him an aerodynamic advantage. Biography Caleb Ewan was born in New South Wales to a Korean mother and Australian father. At the age of eight he started bicycle racing, inspired by his father, who was also a competitive cyclist. He started competitive cycling at the age of ten. In 2010 he became the Junior National Road Race Champion. The next year he won multiple disciplines at the Junior National Track Championships and he became World Champion omnium at the Junior Track World Championships. In 2013 Ewan started racing for Jayco-AIS World Tour Academy. That year he won the first stage as well as the general classification of the Mitchelton Wines Bay Cycling Classic. 2018 Tour Of Britain
The 2018 Tour of Britain was an eight-stage men's professional Road bicycle racing, road cycling race. It was the fifteenth running of the modern version of the Tour of Britain and the 78th British tour in total. The race started on 2 September in Pembrey Country Park and finished on 9 September in London. It was part of the 2018 UCI Europe Tour. The French rider Julian Alaphilippe of won the race. 2016 EuroEyes Cyclassics
The 2016 EuroEyes Cyclassics are the 21st edition of the EuroEyes Cyclassics road bicycle race, the first edition under the new name. The one-day-race took place on 21 August 2016 and was won by Caleb Ewan in the sprint, after Nacer Bouhanni was relegated for irregular sprinting. Route and background The EuroEyes Cyclassics was the only UCI World Tour race held in Germany during the 2016 season. 2014 UCI Road World Championships – Men's Under-23 Road Race
The Men's under-23 road race of the 2014 UCI Road World Championships took place in and around Ponferrada, Spain on 26 September 2014. The course of the race was with the start and finish in Ponferrada. Following on from countryman Kurt Asle Arvesen in 1997, Sven Erik Bystrøm became only the second Norwegian rider to win the world title. He made a late break on the final climb, with around remaining, and held off the peloton; he ultimately soloed to victory by seven seconds. Australia's Caleb Ewan won the field sprint for the silver medal, while Bystrøm's teammate Kristoffer Skjerping completed the podium with the bronze medal. The 2014 UCI Road World Championships took place in Ponferrada, Spain, from 21 to 28 September 2014. The cycling championships consisted of 12 events for elite, under-23 and junior cyclists. It was the 81st UCI Road World Championships and the seventh time that Spain had hosted the championships; they were previously held in Lasarte in 1965, Montjuïc in 1973, Barcelona in 1984, Benidorm in 1992, San Sebastián in 1997 and Madrid in 2005. Bidding process The UCI announced on 4 April 2011 that the city of Ponferrada had the best candidature file to host the Championships. The candidature file of Ponferrada had the best score on the important sporting and economic elements. 2012 UCI Road World Championships
The 2012 UCI Road World Championships took place in the southern part of the Dutch province of Limburg, also known as South Limburg, between September 15 and 23. The event consisted of a road race and a time trial for men, women and men under 23, and team time trials for elite men and women. It was the 79th Road World Championships. Castelfidardo near Loreto in Italy was also a candidate, but Italy had held the UCI Road World Championships in Varese in 2008. The Netherlands had last hosted the Road World Championships in 1998, in Valkenburg aan de Geul, and 2012 was the seventh time that the country hosted the championships. The 2020 Scheldeprijs was the 108th edition of the Scheldeprijs road cycling one day race. It was originally scheduled to be held on 8 April 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed to 14 October 2020. It was a 1.Pro event on the 2020 UCI Europe Tour and the 2020 UCI ProSeries. In previous years, the race course has included sections in both Belgium and the Netherlands, and was originally planned to start in the Dutch city of Terneuzen and finish in the Belgian city of Schoten. However, due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the Netherlands, the race course was altered to 10 laps of a course in and around Schoten. Scheldeprijs
The Scheldeprijs is a cycling race in Flanders and the Netherlands which starts in Terneuzen, crosses the Scheldt River, and finishes in Schoten. Until 2018 it was held entirely in Belgium. The event, ranked as a 1.HC race on the UCI Europe Tour, features mostly sprinters on its roll of honour, as it is held on all-flat roads over roughly 200 kilometres.
