2021 Rugby Europe Championship
The 2021 Rugby Europe Championship was the 5th Rugby Europe Championship, the annual rugby union competition contested by the national teams of Georgia, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain and the Netherlands (who promoted to the Championship after defeating Belgium in the promotion/relegation play-off of the 2020 Rugby Europe Championship), and the 52nd edition of the competition (including all its previous incarnations as FIRA Tournament, Rugby Union European Cup, FIRA Nations Cup, FIRA Trophy and European Nations Cup). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament spanned from March to December, compared to previous editions where the tournament would have been held between February and March. Samuel Marques
Samuel Marques (born 8 December 1988), often cited as Samuel Marquès, is a Portuguese in France, French-Portuguese rugby union player. He plays as a scrum-half. He is of Portuguese descent and represents Portugal national rugby union team, Portugal at international level. Club career Marques first played at US Eauze, from 2004/05 to 2006/07, before joining Section Paloise in 2007/08. He joined the first team at 2009/10, and would play there until 2011/12, at the Pro D2. He was lent to SC Albi for two seasons, 2011/12 to 2013/14, playing regularly at the Pro D2. He returned to Section Paloise, playing two seasons and being a member of the team that won the Pro D2 in 2014/15 and having his debut at the Top 14 in 2015/16. Tomás Mourato Vermelho Mega Appleton (born 29 July 1993) is a Portuguese rugby union player. He plays as a wing and as a centre. He is studying to be a physician dentist. He has played for CDUL since he was 6 years old, and was promoted to the first team in 2011/12. He won the Campeonato Português de Rugby with them in 2011/12, 2013/14 and 2016/17. Patrice Lagisquet (born 4 September 1962) is a former French rugby union footballer and a current coach. He played as a wing. He was nicknamed "The Bayonne Express". Lagisquet was born in Arcachon. He first played at U.A. Gujan-Mestras, until moving to CA Bègles, where he played from 1980/81 to 1981/82. NRCA Stadium
The National Rugby Centre Amsterdam, also known as NRCA Stadium, is a rugby stadium in Amsterdam. The complex is situated within the Sportpark de Eendracht in the district of Geuzenveld-Slotermeer. All international matches of the Netherlands national team are played at the NCRA, and the offices of the Netherlands Rugby Board (NRB) are at the complex. Plans for the National Rugby Centre Amsterdam (NRCA) were formed by the NRB in the eighties and nineties as the increasing interest in rugby grew so strong that the old offices in Bussum became impracticable.
