2021 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships
The 2021 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships were held from 27 to 31 October 2021 in Kitakyushu, Japan. Dina Averina broke the record for the most medals won at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships with 22 total medals and also became the first gymnast to win four World all-around titles. Alina Harnasko won the gold medal in the ribbon, becoming the first non-Russian individual World Champion since 2013 and the first Belarusian individual World Champion since 1996. The Russian group won their fifth consecutive World all-around title. Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships are the world championships for the sport of rhythmic gymnastics. The tournament is promoted and organized by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). It is one of the three tournaments in rhythmic gymnastics officially organized by FIG, as well as the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup and the gymnastics competitions at the Olympic Games (in collaboration with the IOC and the federation of the country organising the Games). The first edition of the World Championships was held in 1963, a time when the sport was known as modern gymnastics. The current program of the World Championships contemplates both individual and group performances. In even non-Olympic years and the year before the Olympics, a team event is also contested. Angelina Anatolyevna Shkatova ( rus, Ангелина Анатольевна Шкатова, , ɐnɡʲɪˈlʲinə ˈʂkatəvə; born 25 January 2001) is Russian group rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2021 European Group All-around champion and the 2015 European Junior Group All-around champion. Career Junior She competed as a member of the Russian Group that competed at the 2015 European Junior Championships where Russia won Group All-around gold medal and silver in 5 Balls final. Senior She was part of Russian group from St. Petersburg that took three gold medals (Group All-around, 5 Balls, 3 Hoops + 4 Clubs) at the 2019 Summer Universiade in Naples, Italy. Anastasiia Maksimovna Salos ( be, Настасся Максімаўна Салас; russian: Анастасия Максимовна Салос; born 18 February 2002) is an individual rhythmic gymnast representing Belarus. She is the 2020 European Championships All-around bronze medalist, as well as the 2019 World Championships Team bronze medalist and 2019 European Championships Team silver medalist. Career Junior Salos began rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 4 in her hometown of Barnaul, Russia. Her parents wanted to find an activity in which she could burn off her excess energy, so her mother took her to a gymnastics class. In 2014 she moved to Belarus to join the national team there. Milena Baldassarri (born 16 October 2001 in Ravenna, Italy) is an Italian individual rhythmic gymnast. She won the silver medal at the World Championship at the 2018 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Individual all around.
