2021 Campeonato Cearense
The 2021 Campeonato Cearense (officially the Cearense Ypióca 2021 for sponsorship reasons) was the 107th edition of Ceará's top professional football league organized by FCF. The competition began on 10 February 2021. Due to the worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil, the Government of Ceará suspended the Campeonato Cearense on 11 March 2021. The tournament resumed on 1 May 2021, and ended on 23 May 2021. In the final, the defending champions Fortaleza and Ceará tied 0–0. Fortaleza were declared champions, winning their 44th title, due to their best performance in the tournament. Format In the first stage the teams (except the teams that participated in the 2021 Copa do Nordeste, Ceará and Fortaleza) played the other teams in a single round-robin tournament. The Campeonato Cearense is the football league of the state of Ceará, Brazil. Format The Campeonato Cearense has three divisions with the following division and format (as in any other Brazilian soccer championship, the format can change every year): First Division The ten clubs play two legs. In each leg there are three stages: *First stage: All teams play each other one time. *Second stage: Two-legged knockout with the top 4 teams of the first stage (1st x 4th and 2nd x 3rd). *Third stage: Two-legged knockout with the second stage winners. The winners of the third stage are leg champions. The two leg champions decide the state championship final in two games. Floresta Esporte Clube
Floresta Esporte Clube, simply known as Floresta, is a football (soccer) club from Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. Founded in 1954, it currently plays in the Campeonato Cearense Série B and Campeonato Brasileiro série C. History Founded in 1954, the club only joined the regional championships in 2015, playing in the third division of the Campeonato Cearense and immediately achieving promotion to the second level as runners-up. After two years in the second division, the club finished second in 2017 and achieved promotion to the first tier. In the 2017 Copa Fares Lopes, the club was crowned champions and earned a place in the 2018 Copa do Brasil. During the beginning the 2020 season, the Floresta ended up being relegated in the Campeonato Cearense, after finishing in the penultimate position. Crato, Ceará
Crato is a city of 130,000 inhabitants on the banks of the river Granjeiro in the south of the state of Ceará, in the northeast of Brazil. Barbalha
Barbalha is a municipality in the state of Ceará in the Northeast region of Brazil. Barbalha covers , and has a population of 61,228 with a population density of 100 inhabitants per square kilometer. 2021 Copa Do Nordeste
The 2021 Copa do Nordeste was the 18th edition of the main football tournament featuring teams from the Brazilian Northeast Region. The competition featured 16 clubs, with Bahia, Ceará and Pernambuco having two seeds each, and Rio Grande do Norte, Sergipe, Alagoas, Paraíba, Maranhão and Piauí with one seed each. Four teams were decided by a qualifying tournament (Pré-Copa do Nordeste). The Copa do Nordeste began on 27 February and ended on 8 May. Tied on aggregate 2–2, Bahia defeated the defending champions Ceará on penalties in the finals to win their fourth title. As champions, Bahia qualified for the third round of the 2022 Copa do Brasil.
