2019 Skate Canada International
The 2019 Skate Canada International was the second event of the 2019–20 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at Prospera Place in Kelowna, British Columbia from October 25 to 27. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the 2019–20 Grand Prix Final. Entries The ISU announced the preliminary assignments on June 20, 2019. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior-level equivalent is the ISU Junior Grand Prix. 2019–20 ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The 2019–20 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating was a series of invitational senior internationals which ran from October 2019 through December 2019. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters earned points based on their placement at each event and the top six in each discipline qualified to compete at the Grand Prix Final in Turin, Italy. Organized by the International Skating Union, the series set the stage for the 2020 Europeans, the 2020 Four Continents, and the 2020 World Championships. The corresponding series for junior-level skaters was the 2019–20 ISU Junior Grand Prix. As part of a new ISU deal, the 2019–20 Grand Prix series was streamed live on YouTube with geographical restrictions. Liubov Ilyushechkina
Liubov Ivanovna Ilyushechkina (russian: Любовь Ивановна Илюшечкина, born 5 November 1991) is a Russian-born Canadian pair skater. Ilyushechkina began competing for Canada with Dylan Moscovitch in 2014, and they were the 2017 Four Continents bronze medalists, two-time bronze medalists on the Grand Prix series, and three-time Canadian national medalists (silver in 2015 and 2017, bronze in 2016). Their partnership ended with Moscovitch's retirement in 2018. With former partner, Charlie Bilodeau, she is the 2020 Canadian Bronze medalist. Alicia Pineault
Alicia Pineault (; born July 26, 1999) is a Canadian figure skater. She is the 2016 Canadian national junior silver medalist and has represented Canada at two Four Continents Championships, finishing within the top ten in 2020. She has also competed on the Grand Prix series. Personal life Pineault was born on July 26, 1999, in Montreal. She studied at École Secondaire de Mortagne before enrolling at Cégep Édouard-Montpetit. She is the 2022 Canadian national silver medalist, a two-time Canadian national bronze medalist (2015, 2019) and has finished in the top 10 at Four Continents Championships 2019. The 2019–20 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and ISU Junior Grand Prix Final was held from December 5–8, 2019 at the Torino Palavela in Turin, Italy. The combined event was the culmination of two international series — the Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the Junior Grand Prix.
