2018–19 Serbian SuperLiga
The 2018–19 Serbian SuperLiga was the thirteenth season of the Serbian SuperLiga since its establishment. Red Star was the defending champions from the previous season. Teams The league consisted of 16 teams: fourteen teams from the 2017–18 Serbian SuperLiga and two new teams from the 2017–18 Serbian First League. Teams promoted to the SuperLiga The first club to be promoted was Proleter Novi Sad, following their 3–1 win against Radnički 1923 on 20 May 2018. Proleter will play in the Serbian SuperLiga for the first time in their history. It will also be first time ever that two teams from Novi Sad are members of top flight. The Serbian Super League ( sr, Супер лига Србије / Super liga Srbije), referred to as the Mozzart Bet Super League ( sr, Моцарт Бет Супер лига / Mozzart Bet Super liga) for sponsorship reasons, is a Serbian professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Serbian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is usually contested by 16 clubs, but the 2020-21 season was contested by 20 clubs, because the Football Association of Serbia restructured the league due to the COVID-19 pandemic, operating a system of promotion and relegation with Serbian First League, the second tier in the Serbian football pyramid. Bačka Palanka
Bačka Palanka ( sr-cyrl, Бачка Паланка, ; hu, Palánka) is a town and municipality located in the South Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. Fk Javor Matis () is a professional football club based in Ivanjica, Serbia. They compete in the Serbian SuperLiga, the top tier of the national league system. History In 1912, a student named Milan Radojević brought the first football ball to Ivanjica, which led to the formation of the club. The team mostly played friendly matches before the conclusion of World War II due to a lack of organized football competitions. Between 1958 and 1962, they were close to achieving promotion to the Yugoslav Second League. However, the club never reached higher than the third level until the 1990s. Fudbalski klub Borac Čačak (), or simply Borac Čačak, is a professional football club based in Čačak, Serbia. The home ground is Čačak Stadium, which has seating capacity of 8,000. As of 2019–20 season, the club competes in third tier Serbian League West. The word Borac in translation means ''fighter'' in English. The Serbian First League ( sr, Прва лига Србије / Prva liga Srbije), referred to as the Mozzart Bet First League ( sr, Моцарт Бет Прва лига / Mozzart Bet Prva liga) for sponsorship reasons, is the name for the second tier in professional Serbia's football league. The league was formed in 2005, following a reshuffle of the second tier Serbo-Montenegrin divisions. It is operated by the Football Association of Serbia. Format The league is usually formed by 16 clubs which play all against one another twice, once at home, once away. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Football Association of Serbia completed a restructure of the league system, and in season 2020/2021 that meant 18 clubs would be competing in the Serbian First League, the number of clubs will go back to the usual 16 following the conclusion of the 2020-2021 season. Fudbalski klub Novi Pazar () is a professional football club from Novi Pazar, Serbia. The club was formed in 1928 as FK Deževa. FK Novi Pazar compete in the Serbian SuperLiga and play their home games at the 12,000 capacity Novi Pazar City Stadium. The club has got a B team FK Novi Pazar 1928 who plays in the Serbian Zone League. Fudbalski klub Radnički 1923 (), commonly known as Radnički Kragujevac (), is a professional football club from Kragujevac, Serbia and the major part of the Radnički Kragujevac Sports Society. 2017–18 Serbian First League
The Serbian First League (Serbian: Prva liga Srbije) is the second-highest football league in Serbia. The league is operated by the Serbian FA. 16 teams compete in the league for the 2017–18 season. Two teams will be promoted to the Serbian SuperLiga. Four teams will be relegated to the Serbian League, the third-highest division overall in the Serbian football league system. Bratstvo Prigrevica, the winner of 2016–17 Serbian League Vojvodina decided to forfeit its promotion, as did the second-placed Omladinac Novi Banovci. FK Proleter Novi Sad () is a defunct football club based in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia. They competed in the Serbian SuperLiga for four seasons between 2018 and 2022, before merging with RFK Novi Sad 1921. History Founded in 1951, the club won the Serbian League Vojvodina in the 2008–09 season and took promotion to the Serbian First League.
