2018 Supercopa De Chile
The 2018 Supercopa de Chile (known as the 2018 Súper Copa MG for sponsorship purposes) was the sixth edition of the Supercopa de Chile, championship organised by the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (ANFP). The match was played by the 2017 Chilean Primera División champions Colo-Colo and the 2017 Copa Chile winners Santiago Wanderers. Colo-Colo were the champions after winning 3–0 in normal time. The Supercopa de Chile (''Supercup of Chile'') is an annual one-match football (soccer), football official competition in Chile organised by the Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (ANFP). This competition serves as the season opener and is played between the Chilean Primera División, Campeonato Nacional Champions and the winners of the Copa Chile of the previous season. Jaime Andrés Valdés Zapata ( born 11 January 1981) is a Chilean footballer who plays for Primera B de Chile side Santiago Wanderers. He usually plays as midfielder. History and profile ''Bianco e Nero'' was founded in 1937 by Luigi Chiarini as the official organ of the drama school Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. Estadio Alcaldesa Ester Roa Rebolledo is a multi-purpose stadium in Concepción, Chile. It is used mostly for football matches. The stadium was built in 1962, as Estadio Regional, with an original capacity of 35,000 people. In 2015, it was completely renovated with new seats and a roof; currently has a capacity of 30,448 seats. Until 2010 it was known as Estadio Municipal de Concepción. The stadium took its new name, Ester Roa Rebolledo, who was a former Concepción city mayor. The stadium was being renovated by Spanish company COPASA, but in May 2014, after continuing delays, the contract was terminated. In September 2014 the municipality of Concepción hired Chilean company Claro Vicuña Valenzuela to finish the works. The 2017 Copa Chile, (officially known as Copa Chile MTS 2017 because of its sponsorship), was the 38th edition of the Copa Chile, the country's national cup tournament. The competition started on 9 July 2017 with the First Round and ended on 11 November 2017. Santiago Wanderers were the winners, beating Universidad de Chile 3–1 in the final to win their third title and first since 1961, and qualified for the 2018 Copa Libertadores. The 2017 Campeonato Nacional season, known as Campeonato Nacional de Transición Scotiabank 2017 for sponsorship purposes, was the 87th season of top-flight football in Chile. Colo-Colo won their thirty-second title following a 3–0 away win at Huachipato on 9 December. Universidad de Chile were the defending champions. Format changes Starting in 2017, the ANFP approved a change from the European calendar season (July-May) that had been used since 2013 to a calendar year season (February-December). The year calendar would have been implemented for the 2017 season, however, it was postponed for one year. In order to manage this transition, the 2017 Clausura tournament, part of the 2016–17 season, was followed up by a single championship in the second semester of the year.
