2017 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships
The 2017 P&G U.S. National Gymnastics Championships is the 54th edition of the U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. The competition was held from August 17–20, 2017 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Competition schedule The competition featured Senior and Junior competitions for both women's and men's disciplines. The competition was as follows: Thursday, August 17: Men's gymnastics — 1 p.m., juniors, and 7 p.m., seniors Friday, August 18: Women's gymnastics — 1 p.m., juniors, and 7:30 p.m., seniors Saturday, August 19: Men's gymnastics – 12 p.m., juniors, and 5 p.m., seniors Sunday, August 20: Women's gymnastics – 11 a.m., juniors, and 3:30 p.m., seniors Sponsorship Procter & Gamble, a multinational consumer goods company, is the title sponsor of the event. Honda Center
The Honda Center (formerly known as the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim) is an indoor arena located in Anaheim, California. The arena is home to the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. Originally named the Anaheim Arena during construction, it was completed in 1993 at a cost of US$123 million. Arrowhead Water paid $15 million for the naming rights over 10 years in October 1993. In the short period of time after the Mighty Ducks franchise was awarded and before the naming rights deal with Arrowhead, Disney referred to the Arena as the Pond of Anaheim. Ashton Locklear
Ashton Taylor Locklear (born January 13, 1998) is a retired American artistic gymnast from North Carolina. She was a member of the gold medal-winning United States team at the 2014 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, and is a two-time national champion on the uneven bars (2014, 2016). Locklear was an uneven bars specialist and was an alternate for the 2016 Summer Olympics U.S. gymnastics team, the Final Five. Personal life Locklear was born in Lumberton, North Carolina, to Carrie and Terry Locklear. She has an older sister, Angelia, who is also a gymnast. Locklear was homeschooled until 8th grade. Margzetta Frazier
Margzetta Bryantina Frazier (born February 25, 2000) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a US National Team member from 2017–2018 and was the 2018 Birmingham World Cup silver medalist. She is currently a member of the UCLA Gymnastics team and is the older sister of eMjae Frazier. Gymnastics career Senior elite 2017 In 2017, Frazier competed at the US Classic, where she only competed bars, finishing fourth on the event behind Ragan Smith, Alyona Shchennikova, and Trinity Thomas and tied with Marissa Oakley. Later that summer, Frazier competed at nationals, where she placed fifth in the all-around and on bars, eighth on beam, and seventh on floor. United States Women's National Gymnastics Team
The United States women's national artistic gymnastics team represents the United States in FIG international competitions. Currently, the U.S. team is the reigning World team champion and the reigning Olympic team silver medalists, with the four gymnasts nicknamed the "Fighting Four". History The U.S. women won the team competition bronze medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Afterwards, they did not win another Summer Olympics or World Championships medal until the 1984 when the Olympic team won silver. Riley Austin Loos (born October 6, 2000) is an American artistic gymnast. He was a member of the gold medal-winning team at both the 2018 and 2022 Pan American Championships. He is a member of the United States men's national gymnastics team and currently competing in collegiate gymnastics for Stanford. Personal life Loos was born in Folsom, California on October 6, 2000, to Greg and Stephanie Loos. He has two sisters. Paul Wojciech Juda (born July 7, 2001) is an American artistic gymnast. He is currently competing for the Michigan Wolverines in NCAA gymnastics and is a member of the U.S. men's national team. Vitaliy Guimaraes (born May 18, 2000) is an American artistic gymnast. He was a member of the silver medal-winning team at the 2021 Pan American Championships. John Brody Malone (born January 7, 2000) is an American artistic gymnast who represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He is the 2022 World Champion on horizontal bar and is the 2021 and 2022 U.S. National Champion. He is a ten-time NCAA National Champion and is the 2021 World Championships bronze medalist on horizontal bar. Personal life Malone was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, on January 7, 2000, to John and Tracy Malone. He has two brothers and one sister. Leanne Ashley Wong (born September 20, 2003) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the gold medal winning teams at the 2022 World Championships and the 2019 Pan American Games. Kara Eaker (born November 7, 2002) is an American artistic gymnast. On the balance beam she is the 2018 Pan American and 2019 Pan American Games champion and a two-time United States national silver medalist (2018, 2019). On floor exercise she is the 2019 Pan American Games silver medalist and the 2018 Pan American bronze medalist. Emma Malabuyo (born November 5, 2002) is an American artistic gymnast. She is a five-time member of the U.S. National Team (2016–19, 2021). She was an alternate for the 2020 Olympic team.
