2016 Tipperary County Football Team Season
The 2016 season was Liam Kearns's first year as manager of the senior Tipperary county football team. Tipperary recorded their first victory over Cork in the Munster Senior Football Championship since 1944 and reached the All-Ireland semi-finals for the first time since 1935. In November 2015, Liam Kearns had been named as the new manager of the senior Tipperary county football team. Elverys Sports, Intersport/Elverys continued as sponsors of Tipperary GAA for the second year. The Tipperary jersey for the 2016 season was the same as was used in 2015 and displayed the Intersport brand name on the front and their co-sponsor Elvery’s name on the back. On 3 November 2016, Michael Quinlivan won Tipperary's first GAA GPA All Stars Awards, All-Star award since 2003, being picked in the full-forward position. Liam Kearns
Liam Kearns (1962 – 12 March 2023) was an Irish Gaelic football Manager (Gaelic games), manager and player. He managed Offaly county football team, Offaly from 2022 until his death in 2023. Kearns previously managed the Limerick county football team, Limerick, Laois county football team, Laois and Tipperary county football team, Tipperary county teams, as well as several clubs in different counties. He led Tipperary to a 2016 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-final, the county's first since 1935. After leaving Tipperary and before being appointed Offaly manager, Kearns managed Clann na nGael GAA (Roscommon). Moyle Rovers GAA
Moyle Rovers GAA are a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Tipperary, Ireland. History The club derives its name from the river Moyle that runs through the Parish and joins the Anner. The club was founded in 1928. Previous to this since the 1800s various teams represented the parish in local leagues most often the Clonmel League. Kilsheelan GAA club have recorded games played against Powerstown in the early 1900s. The 1990s Football The club's grounds, Monroe, was officially opened in 1990. Soon after in 1991 they won their first South senior football title and in 1995 their first ever County senior football championship final win. Further victories in this grade followed in 1996/98/99/00 along with these Moyle Rovers also won four South Senior football titles; and contested two Munster club finals also. Clonmel Commercials
Clonmel Commercials GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football club located in the town of Clonmel in County Tipperary, Ireland. The club is part of the South Division of Tipperary GAA. They have been Tipperary Senior Football champions on twenty occasions since their formation in 1934. History Affiliated to the GAA in 1934, the club's first taste of county success came in the form of a minor title in 1935. A County Junior title followed in 1940, before the first of the club's 15 Senior titles in 1944. Josh Keane
Josh Keane (born 16 July 1995) is an Irish Gaelic football and hurling player who plays at inter-county level for Tipperary, and plays his club football for Golden–Kilfeacle. Career Keane played for the Tipperary minor hurling team in 2012 and 2013 and with the under-21 hurling team in 2016. He played for the Tipperary minor football team in 2013 and the under-21 football team from 2014 until 2016. He was also part of the intermediate hurling panel in 2016. Jimmy Feehan
James Feehan (born 16 August 1995) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays as a left corner-back for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Killenaule, County Tipperary, Feehan first played competitive Gaelic football during his schooling at Rockwell College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team before later joining the under-21 and junior sides. He made his senior debut during the 2015 championship. Feehan immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. At club level Feehan plays with Killenaule. Carbery Rangers
Carbery Rangers is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Rosscarbery, County Cork, Ireland. The club is solely concerned with the game of Gaelic football. History Located in Rosscarbery in West Cork, Carbery Rangers was founded on 10 November 1887. The club played its first match just under a month later in a field which was part of the lands of Downeen Castle.
