2016 Korean Series
The 2016 Korean Series was the championship series of the 2016 KBO League season. The Doosan Bears, as the regular season champions, automatically advanced to the Korean Series. They played against the winner of the playoff series, the NC Dinos, who defeated the LG Twins. Doosan won the first four games of the best-of-seven series, winning their fifth Korean Series title. Doosan Bears
The Doosan Bears ( ko, 두산 베어스) are a South Korean professional baseball team based in Seoul. Founded in 1982, they are a member of the KBO League. The Bears have won six Korean Series titles (1982, 1995, 2001, 2015, 2016, and 2019) and play their home games at Seoul's Jamsil Baseball Stadium. History The club was founded in Daejeon in as the OB Bears, with the Oriental Brewery as their owners. OB Bears were the first team to be founded in the KBO League. Michael Matthew Bowden (born September 9, 1986) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs, in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) with the Saitama Seibu Lions, and in the KBO League (KBO) with the Doosan Bears. Ryu Ji-hyuk (born 13 January 1994) is a South Korean professional baseball infielder for the Kia Tigers of the KBO League. Choi Joo-hwan (Hangul: 최주환; born February 28, 1988) is a South Korean second baseman who plays for the SSG Landers in the KBO League. He bats left-handed and throws right-handed. Nicholas Reginald Evans (born January 30, 1986) is an American former professional baseball infielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks, in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, and for the Doosan Bears of the KBO League. Oh Jae-il (Hangul: 오재일, Hanja: 吳在一; born October 29, 1986) is a South Korean professional baseball infielder for the Samsung Lions of the KBO League. Oh Jae-won (born February 9, 1985) is a retired South Korean professional baseball infielder who spent his entire career with the Doosan Bears of the KBO League. Kim Jae-ho (Hangul:김재호, Hanja: 金宰鎬) (born March 21, 1985) is a South Korean infielder who plays for the Doosan Bears in the KBO League. Kim graduated from Choong Ang High School and joined the Doosan Bears through the first draft in 2004. His main position is shortstop, however, he sometimes plays as a second baseman. He won the KBO League Golden Glove Award in 2015 and 2016 consecutively. He handed over his captain's position to Kim Jae-hwan when he was dismissed due to an injury in 2017, and returned to his batting sense, but was dismissed again on August 29, 2017 after being hit by Kim Jae-hwan while defending against the Lotte Giants. Park Sei-hyok
Park Sei-Hyok (born 9 January 1990), nicknamed "Triple Machine", is a South Korean baseball player for the NC Dinos in the KBO League. His position is the catcher. Park is the son of former KBO player Park Chul-woo, a slugger who won the 1989 Korean Series Most Valuable Player Award for the Haitai Tigers. Career Upon graduation from Shinil High School, Park was selected 48th overall by the LG Twins in the 2008 KBO draft, but decided to play college baseball.
