Kim Jae-ho (baseball)
Kim Jae-ho (Hangul:김재호, Hanja: 金宰鎬) (born March 21, 1985) is a South Korean infielder who plays for the Doosan Bears in the KBO League. Kim graduated from Choong Ang High School and joined the Doosan Bears through the first draft in 2004. His main position is shortstop, however, he sometimes plays as a second baseman. He won the KBO League Golden Glove Award in 2015 and 2016 consecutively. He handed over his captain's position to Kim Jae-hwan when he was dismissed due to an injury in 2017, and returned to his batting sense, but was dismissed again on August 29, 2017 after being hit by Kim Jae-hwan while defending against the Lotte Giants. Infielder
An infielder is a baseball player stationed at one of four defensive "infield" positions on the baseball field. Standard arrangement of positions In a game of baseball, two teams of nine players take turns playing offensive and defensive roles. Although there are many rules to baseball, in general the team playing offense tries to score runs by batting balls into the field that enable runners to make a complete circuit of the four bases. The team playing in the field tries to prevent runs by catching the ball before it hits the ground, by tagging runners with the ball while they are not touching a base, or by throwing the ball to first base before the batter who hit the ball can run from home plate to first base. Shortstop
Shortstop, abbreviated SS, is the baseball or softball fielding position between second and third base, which is considered to be among the most demanding defensive positions. Historically the position was assigned to defensive specialists who were typically poor at batting and were often placed at the bottom of the batting order. Today, shortstops are often able to hit well and many are placed at the top of the lineup. In the numbering system used by scorers to record defensive plays, the shortstop is assigned the number 6. More hit balls go to the shortstop than to any other position, as there are more right-handed hitters in baseball than left-handed hitters, and most hitters have a tendency to pull the ball slightly. The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO; ko, 한국야구위원회) is the governing body for the professional leagues of baseball in South Korea. Lotte Giants
The Lotte Giants ( ko, 롯데 자이언츠) are a South Korean professional baseball team based in Busan. They are a member of the KBO League. The Lotte Giants are owned by Lotte Corporation, which also owns the Chiba Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball. From 1982 through 1986, they played at Gudeok Baseball Stadium and since then have played at Sajik Baseball Stadium. They have won the Korean Series twice, in 1984 and 1992. Kim Jae-hwan (baseball)
Kim Jae-hwan (Hangul: 김재환; born September 22, 1988) is a South Korean outfielder and designated hitter for the Doosan Bears of the KBO League. He bats left-handed and throws right-handed. Professional career After graduation from Incheon High School, he was selected by the Doosan Bears as a catcher in the second round of the KBO Draft. In , Kim appeared in just 14 games as a pinch hitter and had 3 hits in 21 at-bats. After the 2008 season, Kim temporarily left the Bears to serve a two-year military service. During that period, he continued to play baseball in the Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps Baseball Team. In , Kim was discharged from the military duty and joined the Doosan Bears again. KBO League Golden Glove Award
The KBO League Golden Glove Award is an award given out annually by the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) to the best overall player at each position in the KBO League. It is also commonly known as the KBO Golden Gloves. The award was established in KBO League's inaugural year in 1982. Selection format Each year, one award is given to the best player at each position, as voted by baseball writers, analysts and broadcasters. (In the KBO's first year, 1982, the award was given exclusively for defensive prowess, similar to the MLB Gold Glove Award).
