2015 Tennessee Volunteers Football Team
The 2015 Tennessee Volunteers football team represented the University of Tennessee in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season, 2015 season. This was the 119th overall season, 82nd as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), and its 24th within the SEC Eastern Division. The team was coached by Butch Jones, in his third season with UT, and plays their home games at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee, Knoxville. This season was also the debut season of Mike DeBord as UT's offensive coordinator. The Vols finished the regular season at 8–4, 5–3 in the SEC, making them Bowl game, bowl-eligible for a second consecutive season. On December 6, 2015, it was announced that the Vols would face the 2015 Northwestern Wildcats football team, Northwestern Wildcats (10–2) in the 2016 Outback Bowl, Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida, on January 1, 2016. Butch Jones
Lyle Allen "Butch" Jones Jr. (born January 17, 1968) is an American football coach who is currently the head coach at Arkansas State University. Jones previously served as a special assistant to the head coach and offensive analyst at the University of Alabama from 2018 to 2020, the head coach at the University of Tennessee from 2013 to 2017, the University of Cincinnati from 2010 to 2012 and Central Michigan University from 2007 to 2009. 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl
The 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl was an American college football bowl game played on January 2, 2015, at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. The 70th edition of the Gator Bowl featured the Iowa Hawkeyes from the Big Ten Conference and the Tennessee Volunteers of the Southeastern Conference. The game was one of the 2014–15 NCAA football bowl games that concluded the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The game began at 3:20 p.m. EST and was nationally televised by ESPN. It was sponsored by tax preparation software company TaxSlayer.com, and for sponsorship reasons was officially known as the TaxSlayer Bowl. Kyle Phillips (American Football)
Kyle Phillips (born May 5, 1997) is an American football defensive end for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football with the Tennessee Volunteers, and has previously played in the NFL for the New York Jets. Early years Phillips grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and attended Hillsboro High School. As a senior, he made 58 tackles (22.5 for loss) with 13 sacks and was named All-Midstate as well as one of ''The Tennessean's'' "Dandy Dozen". Jakob Elijah Johnson ( ; born 15 December 1994) is a German professional American football fullback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Tennessee and signed with the New England Patriots in 2019 through the NFL's International Player Pathway Program. Curt Maggitt (born February 4, 1993) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at Tennessee and signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Derek Anthony Barnett (born June 25, 1996) is an American football defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL). Emmanuel LaMurel Moseley (born March 25, 1996) is an American football cornerback for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Tennessee. Justin Scott Worley (born November 20, 1992) is a former American football quarterback. Worley played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers.
