Kyle Phillips (American Football)
Kyle Phillips (born May 5, 1997) is an American football defensive end for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football with the Tennessee Volunteers, and has previously played in the NFL for the New York Jets. Early years Phillips grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and attended Hillsboro High School. As a senior, he made 58 tackles (22.5 for loss) with 13 sacks and was named All-Midstate as well as one of ''The Tennessean's'' "Dandy Dozen". Phillips was rated a four star recruit and played in the 2015 All-American Bowl, where he committed to play college football at the University of Tennessee over offers from LSU and Ole Miss. College career Phillips played four seasons for the Tennessee Volunteers, serving primarily as a reserve defensive lineman until midway through his junior year. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man line defense, seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an "end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside. When most teams adopted a five-man line, two different styles of end play developed: "crashing" ends, who rushed into the backfield to disrupt plays, and "stand-up" or "waiting" ends, who played the more traditional containment style. Teresa Phillips
Teresa Lawrence Phillips (born 1958) was the athletic director at Tennessee State University, a post she had held since 2001. She was one of the few female athletic directors at a school that sponsors football. She was also the head women's basketball coach at TSU and Fisk University, and led the Tiger men for one game in 2003—becoming the first woman to coach a Division I men's basketball team. Career A Chattanooga native, Phillips—then known as Teresa Lawrence—attended Vanderbilt University on an academic scholarship. She played center on the school's club women's basketball team. The 2019 season was the Cleveland Browns' 67th in the National Football League (NFL), their 71st overall, their second full season under general manager John Dorsey and their only season under head coach Freddie Kitchens. They finished 6–10 despite entering the season with high expectations, failing to improve on their 7–8–1 record from 2018 or end their franchise-record and league-high 16-year playoff drought.
