2015 Capital Football Season
The 2015 Capital Football season was the third season under the new competition format in the Australian Capital Territory. The overall premier for the new structure qualified for the National Premier Leagues finals series, competing with the other state federation champions in a final knockout tournament to decide the National Premier Leagues Champion for 2015. Capital Football
Capital Football is the trading name for the ACT Football Federation Incorporated, the state governing body for association football, soccer in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, Australian Capital Territory (ACT), but also has affiliated clubs based in surrounding areas of New South Wales. It is affiliated with Football Australia, the national governing body. History Capital Football was founded in the 1960s as the ''ACT Soccer Federation Incorporated''. Canberra City FC
Canberra City Football Club, also known for some time as the Canberra Arrows, is a semi-professional soccer club based in Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It currently participates in the Capital Footballs Division One competition and competed in the National Soccer League from 1977 to 1986. National Soccer League Canberra City entered the new national competition for the inaugural season in 1977 as the only team representing the ACT. In its first season, home games were played at Manuka Oval which had the honour of hosting the first ever NSL match when City were defeated 3-1 by West Adelaide SC in front of a crowd of 1,550. In 1978 the club moved to the newly constructed Bruce Stadium. Canberra remained competitive throughout its tenure in the league, but had limited success being unable to reach the finals series in any season. Canberra White Eagles FC (commonly known simply as White Eagles) is an Australian amateur association football club based in the Woden Valley region of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. Queanbeyan City Football Club is an Australian amateur association football club based in the NSW city of Queanbeyan, Australia. The club was founded in 1966 and currently competes in ACT competitions including the ACT Capital League. History The club was established in 1966 as ''Queanbeyan Makedonia'' by Done Dimov, Angelo Hadzis and Vic Tsalakos. The club registered with the ACT Soccer Federation on 17 March 1966 and entered the ACT Second Division. However, Hungaria was forced to fold and Queanbeyan was chosen to replace the club in the first division. The Lions spent a number of years in the first division with the club finishing runner-up in the league in both 1969 and 1970.
