Canberra White Eagles
Canberra White Eagles FC (commonly known simply as White Eagles) is an Australian amateur association football club based in the Woden Valley region of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. Founded in 1992 by the Canberra Serbian community, the club currently competes in the Capital Premier League competition. History The Beginning The club was officially formed in 1992. Previously a number of Serbian teams existed but only for short spells, including the likes of Farrer United, Mawson Serbia and most recently Canberra United which ceased in 1990. In 1993 the club entered the local league with teams in State League 2 and State League 4, with State 4 being the reserve team. The squads had a good mix of experience, flair, discipline and enthusiasm. Both teams won their respective competitions that season with results such as 9–1 common. Woden Park
Woden Park (also known as Woden Park Athletics Field) is a multi-use association football stadium and athletics centre located within Woden Valley, Canberra. It is the home ground of Woden Weston FC in the NPL Capital Football as well as ACT Little Athletics. Stadium Facilities Following the completion of the redevelopment, Woden Park is now a disabled friendly venue with the provision of a disability access ramp. The competition consisted of two divisions across the ACT, created from the teams in the previous structure. Capital Football State League
The Capital Football State League is an amateur soccer league system based in the Canberra, Australian Capital Territory (ACT) region. The league system is organised and run by Capital Football. It represents levels three and below for men in the ACT league pyramid beneath the ACT NPL 1 and Capital Premier League, and level 2 and below for women beneath the ACT NPL W. Men's structure The ACT State League men's structure is broken into fourteen leagues composed of ten All-Age State League Competitions and four age restricted Masters Competitions. The system consists of a pyramid of leagues. Divisions 1-4 are bound together by the principle of promotion and relegation. The most successful club in each league rises to a higher league, whilst the club that finishes at the bottom of their league finds itself sinking down a level. Woden Valley
The District of Woden Valley () is one of the original eighteen districts of the Australian Capital Territory used in land administration. The district is subdivided into divisions ( suburbs), sections and blocks. The district of Woden Valley lies entirely within the bounds of the city of Canberra, the capital city of Australia. The name of Woden Valley is taken from the name of a nearby homestead owned by Dr James Murray who named the homestead in October 1837 after the Old English god of wisdom, Woden. He named it this as he was to spend his life in the pursuit of wisdom. However, historian Dr Harold Koch considers that the name may have its origins in the Aboriginal word for possum, either ''wadyan'' or ''wadhan'', influenced in interpretation by the term known to English speakers of 'Woden'. ACT Premier League
The National Premier Leagues Capital Football 1 (also known as NPL ACT 1 or simply NPL1) is a soccer competition contested by clubs affiliated to Capital Football. The league is the highest level (level 1) competition in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) region. It is a subdivision of the National Premier Leagues and sits in Level 2 in the overall Australian league system. The National Soccer League (NSL) was the top-level soccer league in Australia, run by Soccer Australia and later the Australian Soccer Association. The NSL, the A-League's predecessor, spanned 28 seasons from its inception in 1977 until its demise in 2004, when it was succeeded by the A-League competition run by Football Federation Australia, the successor to the Australian Soccer Association.
