ACT Premier League
The National Premier Leagues Capital Football 1 (also known as NPL ACT 1 or simply NPL1) is a soccer competition contested by clubs affiliated to Capital Football. The league is the highest level (level 1) competition in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) region. It is a subdivision of the National Premier Leagues and sits in Level 2 in the overall Australian league system. History The competition was restructured after the 2006 season, based on criterion requiring a development pathway within clubs where each club must field a team in a reserves and Under-18 divisions. Nine teams contested in the Premier League in 2007, cutting Gungahlin Juventus, White Eagles and reigning premier Cooma Tigers from the top tier. Australian Capital Territory
The Australian Capital Territory (commonly abbreviated as ACT), known as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) until 1938, is a landlocked federal territory of Australia containing the national capital Canberra and some surrounding townships. It is located in southeastern Australian mainland as an enclave completely within the state of New South Wales. Founded after Federation as the seat of government for the new nation, the territory hosts the headquarters of all important institutions of the Australian Government. Belconnen United FC
Belconnen United Football Club (formerly ''Belconnen Blue Devils'') is an Australian semi-professional association football club based in the northern Canberra region of Belconnen, ACT. The women's First Grade team currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Capital Football. The men's First Grade team was relegated after finishing last in the 2022 season under Head Coach Michael Zakoski, Director of NPL Tim Malone and President Joe Carbone. 2022 Capital Football Season
The 2022 Capital Football season was the 69th season in Capital Football. The season commenced 2 April 2022. This season saw the rebranding of the NPL ACT 2 to be named the Capital Premier League. 2022 National Premier Leagues Capital Football NPL ACT is the ACT's highest senior men's division. Canberra Croatia were the Premiers, Monaro Panthers were champions at the end of the NPL ACT Finals series while Belconnen United were relegated to Capital Premier League for the 2023 season. The Australia Cup, formerly known as the FFA Cup until the 2021 season, is the national football knockout cup competition in Australia. This annual competition is organised by Football Australia, formerly known as Football Federation Australia until 2020. The FFA Centre of Excellence (formerly the Australian Institute of Sport Football Program) was a football talent identification and player development program run by Football Federation Australia (FFA) and was based at the Australian Institute of Sport, in Canberra. Riverina Rhinos is an Australian association football club based in the city of Griffith, New South Wales. The club was founded in 2014 and as of 2017 competes in the ACT based NPL Capital Football. Gungahlin Enclosed Oval is a multi-use stadium located in the north Canberra region of Gungahlin, Australian Capital Territory. It is the home ground for Gungahlin United, Gungahlin Jets, Gungahlin Bulls and Gungahlin Eagles. The venue has a seating capacity of 1,150 people and an overall capacity of 5,000. Stadium Facilities The playing surface is made of high quality, water-efficient turf and is lit to the Australian Standard for sporting competition. Gungahlin United Football Club (formerly Juventus SC and Gungahlin Juventus SC) is an Australian semi-professional football club based in the Canberra district of Gungahlin, ACT. Canberra Croatia Football Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in the suburb of Deakin in the south of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.
