2013 Dutch TT
The 2013 Dutch TT was the seventh round of the 2013 MotoGP season. It was held at the TT Circuit Assen in Assen on 29 June 2013. MotoGP race report This race was most notable for Valentino Rossi's comeback ride to win the race and Jorge Lorenzo's excellent ride to fifth place after a heavy crash in one of the free practice sessions where he badly injured his left collarbone. On Thursday, reigning world champion Jorge Lorenzo crashed heavily during free practice in wet conditions and fractured his left collarbone as a result. After surgery he was able to take part in the race on Saturday. After six rounds, Dani Pedrosa narrowly leads the title hunt with 123 points. Close second is Jorge Lorenzo with 116 and further back is rookie Marc Márquez with 93 points. 2013 Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing Season
The 2013 FIM MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 65th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Season summary Jorge Lorenzo started the season as the defending World Champion, while Honda was the defending Manufacturers' Champion. Moto2 champion Marc Márquez joined the MotoGP grid with Repsol Honda. In the premier MotoGP class, Lorenzo, along with Repsol Honda teammates Marc Márquez and Dani Pedrosa battled it out for most of the season in regards to the championship battle. Lorenzo won the opening race of the season in Qatar, before rookie Márquez became the youngest premier class winner, as he claimed victory in the inaugural Grand Prix of the Americas in Texas. Álvaro Bautista
Álvaro Bautista Arce (born 21 November 1984) is a Spanish motorcycle road racer. He won the 2022 Superbike World Championship, with Ducati factory team. After the 2019 World Superbike season with the factory Ducati team, for 2020 and 2021 he was contracted to ride the Honda Fireblade in World Superbikes, with the team being run under full HRC control. He was the 2006 125 cc World Champion and runner-up in 250 cc, Superbike World Championship and finished in the top six in MotoGP in and . He competed in the MotoGP class from 2010 to 2018. Aleix Espargaró Villà (born 30 July 1989) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He was thSpanish 2004 FIM CEV 125cc International Champion and currently competes in the MotoGP class for Aprilia Racing team. Career Espargaró was born in Granollers, Spain. Espargaró had his breakthrough in the MotoGP season with Forward Yamaha finishing 7th in the championship with the highlight being a 2nd place finish in Aragon. Nicky Hayden
Nicholas Patrick Hayden (July 30, 1981 May 22, 2017), nicknamed "The Kentucky Kid", was an American professional motorcycle racer who won the MotoGP World Championship in 2006. Hayden began racing motorcycles at a young age. He began his road racing career in the CMRA before progressing to the AMA Supersport Championship and then to the AMA Superbike Championship. He won the AMA title in 2002 and was approached by the Repsol Honda team to race for them in MotoGP in 2003. Hayden largely had mixed results in his first 2 seasons at Repsol Honda only getting 4 podiums. He then rallied in the 2005 season by scoring his first Grand Prix win at Laguna Seca, and finishing third in the standings at the end of the season. The 2013 Grand Prix of the Americas was the second round of the 2013 MotoGP season. It was held at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas on 21 April 2013. This was the first GP race at the circuit. Marc Márquez won his first MotoGP race, in which was only his second race in the top level, and became the youngest ever rider to win a MotoGP race. Ben Spies (; born July 11, 1984), is an American former professional motorcycle road racer. He was sometimes nicknamed "Elbows" due to his riding style, in which his elbows protruded outward. Spies won the AMA Superbike Championship for Yoshimura Suzuki in , and successfully defended it in and . For 2009 he raced in the Superbike World Championship series for the Yamaha Italia team; winning the championship in his rookie year by six points over rival Noriyuki Haga. He started racing on Yamaha YSR50cc bikes with the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association in Texas when he was 8 years old. 2013 Catalan Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2013 Catalan motorcycle Grand Prix was the sixth round of the 2013 MotoGP season. It was held at the Circuit de Catalunya in Montmeló on 16 June 2013. Report Dani Pedrosa took his second consecutive MotoGP pole position ahead of Cal Crutchlow and Jorge Lorenzo. Pedrosa set a new circuit record for MotoGP with a 1:40.893, which beat his former teammate Casey Stoner's record of 1:41.186 set in 2008. Lorenzo went on to win the race, ahead of pole sitter Pedrosa, and Marc Márquez. Valentino Rossi finished in fourth place, after the collision with Álvaro Bautista in Italy. Hiroshi Aoyama
is a Japanese retired Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, and current team principal of Honda Team Asia. Aoyama is best known for winning the 2009 250cc World Championship title. He is the older brother of former 250cc and World Superbike rider, Shuhei Aoyama. In his six seasons in the 250cc World Championship, he raced Honda and KTM machinery in an Aprilia-dominated class. He took nine victories and never finished lower than seventh overall. By winning the 2009 250cc World Championship, Aoyama become the last winner of this class before its replacement by the Moto2 class in 2010. In 2010 he moved up to the premier class with Interwetten Racing. Iván Silva Alberola (born June 12, 1982 in Barcelona) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He races in the RFME Superstock 1000 Championship aboard a Suzuki GSX-R1000. Silva has made occasional substitute racing appearances in MotoGP. After appearing in 2005 he filled in for D'Antin at Donington Park and Brno in 2006, as their regular rider Alex Hofmann was filling in for Sete Gibernau on a works Ducati. Despite targeting a full-time ride for 2007, he remained in a testing role, but again raced for the team at Brno, this time replacing an injured Hofmann. Bradley Smith (born 28 November 1990) is a British occasional motorcycle racer who for 2022 is linked to RNF E-Racing in MotoE. He was injured shortly after a Le Mans start when he was the opening rider team for Moto Ain Yamaha, at an FIM Endurance World Championship event in April 2022. He missed the opening three rounds of the MotoE racing season, being declared unfit to race at the third round at Mugello on 29 May 2022. Late in 2022, Smith was called-in to ride as a rookie in the World Supersport Championship class, to replace injured Leonardo Taccini.
