2012 Supercupa României
The 2012 Supercupa României was the 14th edition of Romania's season opener cup competition. The game was contested between Liga I title holders, CFR Cluj, and Romanian Cup winners, Dinamo București. For the first time in history, the Supercup was played at Arena Națională, the newly stadium built in Bucharest. Dinamo won the game after penalties. After regular time the game ended 1–1 after goals of Diogo Valente, who opened the score for Cluj, and George Țucudean, who equalised in the second half. CFR had their captain Cadú sent off in the 65th minute. In extra time, Țucudean scored again, but CFR answered only one minute later with a goal by Pantelis Kapetanos. At the penalty shootout, two players from CFR missed, only one player from Dinamo failed to score, thus the white-and-reds won the trophy for the second time in history. Supercupa României
The Supercupa României ( en, Romanian Supercup) is a Romanian football championship contested by the winners of the Liga I and the Cupa României. It is usually played at the Arena Națională in Bucharest. The competition started off in 1994, with the first edition being won by Steaua București. In 2010, for the first time in its history, the Supercup was held even though CFR Cluj had been victorious in both the league and the cup in the previous season. At that time, they faced Unirea Urziceni, the Liga I runners-up. The most successful performer so far has been FCSB with 6 wins, followed by Rapid București and CFR Cluj with 4 wins each up until 2021. Pantelis Kapetanos
Pantelis Kapetanos ( el, Παντελής Καπετάνος; born 8 June 1983) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a striker and is known for his last minute goals and for the tendency to score them with his head, which he celebrates by covering his forehead with his forearm. Club career Kapetanos started his career in his native Greece, playing for Kozani, Iraklis and AEK Athens, with whom he competed in the UEFA Champions' League. Vasile Maftei
Vasile Maftei (born 1 January 1981) is a Romanian retired footballer who played as a defender. He was best known for his leadership qualities, becoming captain for Rapid București, Unirea Urziceni, Concordia Chiajna and Voluntari. Although primarily a central defender, when needed he operated as a right back. Maftei was formed at Rapid București, where he became a key part of the team, winning one league title in 2003, one Romanian Cup and one Super Cup in 2002. In 2004, following the departure of Adrian Iencsi, he was appointed captain and won two Romanian Cups in a row in 2006 and 2007 and one Super Cup in 2007. Ivo Daniel Ferreira Mendonça Pinto (born 7 January 1990) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Dutch club Fortuna Sittard as a right-back. Eduard Cornel Stăncioiu (born 3 March 1981) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Stăncioiu began his career at Sportul Studenţesc, where he played for 8 years. During the summer of 2006 he moved to CFR Cluj as a free agent. Stăncioiu accomplished a feat when he conceded no goals between rounds 26 and 30 of the Romanian Liga 1 2004–2005 season. He managed to keep his goal untouched for a total of 457 minutes.
