The 2012 Shakey's V-League (SVL) season was the ninth season of the Shakey's V-League. There were two indoor conferences for this season. 1st Conference The Shakey's V-League 9th Season 1st Conference was the fifteenth conference of Shakey's V-League, a collegiate women's volleyball league in the Philippines founded in 2004. The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is a women's professional volleyball league in the Philippines organized by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The league began in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League, a women's collegiate league. Since 2011, the league became open to participation of corporate clubs and other non-collegiate teams. The Spikers' Turf has served as the men's counterpart of the league. History Shakey's V-League (2004–2016) The Premier Volleyball League was established in 2004 as the Shakey's V-League by Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. led by Jun Bernardino, Ricky Palou, Moying Martelino, and Rhea Navarro who were businessmen previously known for being men's basketball patrons. The Shakey's V-League was initially an inter-collegiate women's league with teams from the UAAP, NCAA, CESAFI among others playing in the league. Alyssa Valdez
Alyssa Caymo Valdez (; born June 29, 1993) is a Filipino volleyball player who currently plays for the Creamline Cool Smashers. She was a member of the collegiate varsity women's volleyball team of Ateneo de Manila University in both indoor and beach volleyball. She was most outstanding as an indoor volleyball player where she brought multiple championship titles and a lot of honor for the university. She is a current member of Philippines national team. Her global recognition paved the way for her to play in other countries like Thailand for 3BB Nakornnont and Taiwan for Attack Line Volleyball Club. Early life Valdez was raised in San Juan, Batangas, to parents Ruel, who works in an automobile company, and Pablita, a public school teacher. She is the only daughter among four children. 2011 SVL Season
The 2011 Shakey's V-League (SVL) season was the eighth season of the Shakey's V-League. There were three indoor conferences in 2011 season. 1st Conference The Shakey's V-League 8th Season 1st Conference was the thirteenth conference of Shakey's V-League, a collegiate women's volleyball league in the Philippines founded in 2004. The conference started April 3, 2011 at The Arena in San Juan. The teams were divided into two groups that played a single round robin. Group A was comprised Ateneo, FEU, San Sebastian, Southwestern University, and Lyceum. Group B had Adamson, CSB, University of St. La Salle (Bacolod), UPHSD, and NU. The top four teams in each group advanced to the quarterfinal round. The eight teams were again divided into two groups and played one round. The top two teams in each group advanced to a crossover best-of-three semifinals, winners of the semifinals advanced to the finals which is also a best-of-three series. Cristina Salak
Cristina Salak (born August 10, 1976) is a Filipino volleyball coach and former volleyball player. Career She was part of the national team that won bronze medal in the 2005 SEA Games in the women's indoor volleyball. She also competed under the Philippine flag in the 2005 AVC Qualification for the 2006 FIVB Women's World Championship held at Ratchaburi, Thailand. Salak became SVL Season 8, 2nd Conference champion with Philippine Army Lady Troopers, she was SVL Season 8, SEA Club Invitational Runner-Up, and SVL Season 9, 2nd Conference and Season 10 bronze medalist. She was again SVL Season 11, 2nd Conference champion before being silver medalist during the SVL Season 11, Reinforced Open, SVL Season 12, Open Conference and SVL Season 12, Reinforced Open. Roger Gorayeb
Roger Gorayeb is a Filipino volleyball coach and former college player. He is noted for being a multi-titled and longtime coach of the San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Manila women's team of the NCAA. Career Gorayeb has served as head coach of the San Sebastian College women's volleyball team. Under Gorayeb's watch, San Sebastian grabbed 11 consecutive championships for the women's team from 1986 to 1997, 22 women's volleyball titles, 6 titles in women's beach volleyball and 11 in junior's volleyball. Gorayeb started his coaching career as a player-coach in 1984, when he was tasked to lead San Sebastian's men's team when their Australian coach left the team. Philippine Army Lady Troopers
The Philippine Army Lady Troopers, also known as the Black Mamba–Army Lady Troopers for sponsorship reasons, is the official women's professional volleyball team of the Philippine Army. The team is composed of enlisted personnel and reinforced with civilian players from time to time. The Lady Troopers competes in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) and has won two Shakey's V-League (predecessor of the PVL) championships. Maria Angeli Tabaquero
Maria Angeli Tabaquero is a Filipino volleyball athlete. She was a member of the UAAP champion teams of the UST Golden Tigresses (2008-2010). Career Tabaquero was named team captain for the Philippine national team in 2013 in the Asian Championship. She was the captain of the Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns club that won the 2013 Shakey's V-League Open Conference over Smart-Maynilad Net Spikers in the finals. Gretchen Ho
Gretchen Ong Ho (; born April 19, 1990) is a Filipino television presenter and former volleyball player. She played collegiate volleyball for the Ateneo Lady Eagles from 2008 to 2013, where she was a member of the "fab five" who brought Ateneo to their first back-to-back UAAP finals appearances (seasons 74 and 75).
