2012 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic
The 2012 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic was held from October 5 to 8 at the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary, Alberta as part of the 2012–13 World Curling Tour. It was the first women's Grand Slam event of the 2012–13 curling season, and this edition marked the twenty-seventh time the tournament has been held. The event was held in a 32-team triple-knockout event, and the purse for the event was CAD$54,000. In the final, Sherry Middaugh defeated Rachel Homan Rachel Catherine Homan (born April 5, 1989) is a Canadian international curler. Cathy Auld
Catherine "Cathy" Auld (born December 3, 1971) is a Canadian curler from Toronto. She currently skips her own team out of Thornhill, Ontario. Career Auld was a longtime member of the Alison Goring rink. Auld played third for the team until 2006 when she was promoted to last rock thrower when Goring moved to throwing lead rocks. The team found success together with this lineup modification. At the 2007 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, they finished the round robin with a 7-2 record. This was enough to secure a playoff spot and they faced Sherry Middaugh in the 3-4 game. However, they lost the game. Lindsay Nicole Warkentin (born Titheridge, November 8, 1982 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler. She previously played lead for the Chelsea Carey team. Career As a junior curler, Warkentin represented Manitoba at the 1999 Canada Winter Games, and she won the Manitoba junior championship in 2001, playing second for Allison Nimik (Flaxey). Kristen Foster (born January 27, 1987 in Morden, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler. In 2003, Foster led her Morden Collegiate Institute team to a Manitoba High School championship. Foster had played with the Chelsea Carey rink since it formed in 2007. Since joining the rink, the team has won one Grand Slam event, the 2010 Manitoba Lotteries Women's Curling Classic and one provincial championship, the 2014 Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Kristy McDonald
Kristy McDonald (born May 20, 1979 as Kristy Jenion) is a Canadian from Winnipeg, Manitoba. McDonald retired from 2016–2021, but returned to the playing for the 2021–22 season. Career Juniors McDonald had a strong junior career, skipping teams to win both the 1996 and 1999 Manitoba Junior Curling Championships. She would represent Manitoba in both of those years at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Chelsea Danielle Carey (born September 12, 1984 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She is the 2016 and 2019 Canadian and Alberta women's champion skip and 2014 Manitoba provincial women's champion skip. Lori Olson-Johns (born Lori Olson on November 24, 1976) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. From 2014–2018, she played third for Val Sweeting and with Sweeting, finished runner-up at the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and won two grand slam events (the 2016 and 2017 Tour Challenge). Curling career 1992–2000 Olson-Johns is a three-time Alberta junior champion. Susan O'Connor (born May 3, 1977) is a Canadians, Canadian curling, curler from Calgary, Alberta. She is an Olympic silver medallist. Career In 2000, O'Connor played third for Kevin Koe at the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. The team, which also included Greg Northcott and Lawnie MacDonald, won the championship. Cheryl Bernard (born June 30, 1966) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She represented Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics as the team's skip, winning the silver medal in women's curling after falling to Sweden in the final.
