2011–2012 Sukma Games
On 27 May 2010, the National Sports Council of Malaysia had decided the Sukma Games be held annually with the National Sports Council held the games every odd year in Kuala Lumpur, while the state held the games every even year. It was also decided that the odd year Sukma Games featured only optional sports while the even year Sukma Games featured 19 core sports and 5 optional sports. The 2011 Sukma Games, officially known as the 14th Sukma Games was held from 2 to 12 June 2011 and featured 19 optional sports, whereas the 2012 Sukma Games, officially known as the 15th Sukma Games was held in Pahang from 9 to 16 July 2012 and featured 24 sports. Bukit Jalil National Stadium
The Bukit Jalil National Stadium (Malay: Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil) in Bukit Jalil, located in the National Sports Complex to the south of the city centre of Malaysia's capital city, Kuala Lumpur, is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium and the home ground of the Malaysian national football team. With a capacity of 87,411, it is the largest in Southeast Asia, third largest in Asia, and the eighth largest football stadium in the world. Sports in Malaysia are an important part of Malaysian culture. Sports in Malaysia are popular from both the participation and spectating aspect. Malaysians from different walks of life join in a wide variety of sports for recreation as well as for competition. In the broadest definition of sports—physical exercise of all sorts—the four most popular recreational sports among the general population of Malaysia are exercise walking, aerobic exercise, strength training, and running. Other most popular sports are bicycling, swimming, climbing, camping, bowling, hiking, fishing, scuba diving and paragliding. Radio Televisyen Malaysia ( en, Radio Television of Malaysia, abbreviated as RTM, stylised as rtm), also known as the Department of Broadcasting, Malaysia ( ms, Jabatan Penyiaran Malaysia) is the national public broadcaster of Malaysia. Putrajaya (), officially the Federal Territory of Putrajaya ( ms, Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya), is a planned capital city which functions as the administrative capital and the judicial capital of Malaysia.
