Selangor Turf Club
Selangor Turf Club is a horse racing track located in Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia. It is one of three horse racing courses in the country; the other two are in Ipoh, Perak and Penang. History Selangor Turf Club was founded in 1896. For nearly a century, races were conducted at Ampang Road, which is today the site of Petronas Twin Towers. In 1993 the Club relocated to its present site in Serdang while its previous Ampang Road racecourse made way for the KLCC/Petronas Towers project. The Sungai Besi Expressway (Expressway 9, E9) is a controlled-access highway in the Klang Valley region of Peninsular Malaysia. The expressway runs between Serdang, Selangor, Serdang and Ampang, Selangor, Ampang, Selangor through southeastern Kuala Lumpur, parallel and directly adjacent to the North–South Expressway southern route, North–South Expressway and the Kuala Lumpur–Seremban Expressway. Petaling District
The Petaling District is a district located in the heart of Selangor in Malaysia. Petaling is not to be confused with the city of Petaling Jaya located in it, nor the ''mukim'' of Petaling under Petaling Jaya City. The district office is located in Subang. The district of Petaling was established on 1 February 1974, the same day Kuala Lumpur was declared a Federal Territory. This district is located in the middle of the Klang Valley adjacent to the capital and thus has experienced tremendous urbanisation. Some of the original forests remain in the Bukit Cherakah Forest Reserve (including the National Botanic Gardens), Kota Damansara Community Forest Park and Bukit Gasing. KTM Komuter
KTM Komuter is a commuter rail system in Malaysia operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM). It was introduced in 1995 to provide local rail services in Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding Klang Valley suburban areas. Services were later expanded to other parts of Malaysia with the introduction of the Northern and Southern sectors. The service uses air-conditioned electric multiple units in 3 and 6 car formations. KTM Komuter contributed RM146.2 million to group revenue in 2017, carrying a total of 37.235 million passengers. The total number of passengers travelling with KTM Komuter in 2017 shows a decrease of 10.2%. This can be attributed to reduced service frequency due to the ongoing Klang Valley Double Tracking (KVDT) rehabilitation project. Serdang, Selangor
Seri Kembangan, formerly known as Serdang New Village, is a town located in Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia. The town is now a considerable city in size. It is located near the northern end of the PLUS Expressway Southern Route . History Seri Kembangan was established as the Serdang New Village in 1950 when the British moved Malaysian Chinese villagers living around Sungai Besi to a centralised location due to the Communist threat during the Malayan Emergency as part of the Briggs Plan. In its early days, the village had 50 houses and all were built from scratch because the British only provided empty plots of land. The area was close to rubber estates and the jungle posed dangers of a different kind. Most of the 15,000 inhabitants earned meagre incomes as mining workers and rubber tappers.
