2011 Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup
The 2011 Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup (a Formula Renault motor racing championship), was the sixth Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup season, a one-make formula series held across Europe. The season began at Hockenheimring on 17 April and finished on 25 September at Monza, after 20 races at 8 events. The championship was won by the Spanish driver Carlos Sainz, Jr. His team, Finnish Koiranen, secured the teams' championship. The final calendar consisting of eight events and 20 races was confirmed in January. EPIC Racing (Euskadi Phil Imanol Claudio Racing) was a racing team from Spain. The team's headquarters were located in Vitoria ( Alava). It was the second major motorsport team from the Basque Country, (Euskadi). Epsilon Euskadi was the biggest one and ran their own team in World Series by Renault and Formula Renault before selling the racing division to EPIC Racing in March 2011 in a bid to run the World Series by Renault with both FR3.5 and FR2.0 when Epsilon Euskadi ran into financial trouble and allowed all personnel involved to maintain their jobs. Alice Elizabeth Fraser Powell (born 26 January 1993) is a British racing driver. In 2010, she became the first woman to win a Formula Renault championship and in 2012 became the first woman to score points in the GP3 Series. Atech Grand Prix was a British motor racing team. It was formed in 2007 as Hitech Junior Team by David Hayle, who had sold his successful British Formula 3 team Hitech Racing to Austrian businessman Walter Grubmuller, Sr. It was renamed Atech Grand Prix at the end of 2009.
