2010–11 Georgian Cup
The 2010–11 Georgian Cup (also known as the ''David Kipiani Cup'') was the sixty-seventh season overall and twenty-first since independence of the Georgian annual football tournament. The competition began on 24 August 2010 and ended on 26 May 2011. The defending champions were WIT Georgia, who won their first Georgian Cup last season. Round of 32 These matches were played on 24 and 25 August 2010. Round of 16 The 12 winners from the previous round competed in this round, as well as the four teams that finished first, second, third and fourth in last year's Umaglesi Liga, Olimpi Rustavi, Dinamo Tbilisi, Zestafoni and WIT Georgia. FC WIT Georgia
FC WIT Georgia is a Georgian football team from Tbilisi. The team is sponsored by WIT Georgia Ltd (a subsidiary of the United States WIT, Inc.), a pet food, accessories, and human and veterinary pharmaceuticals import company. WIT stands for World Innovation Technologies. They play their home games at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium#2 in Tbilisi. In 2004, FC WIT Georgia won the Georgian Championship, qualifying them for the early stages of the UEFA Champions League. In 2009, they won the championship for the second time. FC Sioni Bolnisi
FC Sioni is a Georgian football club based in Bolnisi. Following the 2022 season, they were relegated to Erovnuli Liga Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian league system. The team has once claimed the national league champion's title. Sioni plays their home matches at local stadium named after Tamaz Stepania. History The football club in Bolnisi was founded in 1936. For years they took part in Georgian domestic competitions under the name ''Madneuli''. While being in the second division in early 1990s, the team emerged among the candidates challenging for the top league. 2009–10 Umaglesi Liga
The 2009–10 Umaglesi Liga was the 21st season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on August 1, 2009, and ended on May 20, 2010. FC Olimpi Rustavi won the championship. Changes from 2008–09 Structural changes League size was reduced from 11 to 10 teams prior to this season. Promotion and relegation Borjomi were relegated to Pirveli Liga at the end of the season after finishing in 11th and last place. Other teams which will not participate in this year's championship are Mglebi and Meshketi, both due to unknown reasons. This means that originally relegated teams Gagra and Spartaki Tskhinvali will stay another season in Umaglesi Liga. FC Guria Lanchkhuti
FC Guria is a Georgian association football club from Lanchkhuti, which competes in Liga 3, the third tier of the national league. Being one of the strongest Georgian teams in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Guria have taken part in the Soviet Top league, also won the national Cup and played fifteen seasons in Umaglesi Liga, twice claiming silver medals. FC Skuri Tsalenjikha
FC Skuri, occasionally also spelled as Squri, is a Georgian football club, based in the town of Tsalenjikha. Currently they compete in Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football. History During the late Soviet times, Skuri was mainly a member of the first division of the Georgian domestic league. After the 1990s the team competed for years in Pirveli Liga, the second division of national championship. Skuri suffered a defeat in the 2014–15 fierce survival battle, although still obtained the right to remain in the league after another club was expelled. FC Tskhinvali
FC Tskhinvali is a Georgian football club, which in mid-2010s spent four seasons in the top tier of the national league. Despite the name, due to the enduring Georgian–Ossetian conflict they were unable to host their opponents in the city of Tskhinvali, playing home games instead in Georgian-controlled areas, mostly in Gori, Tbilisi and Rustavi. In early 2020 the club was disqualified from Liga 3 after their failure to solve a severe financial crisis. Football Club Chikhura Sachkhere, commonly known as Chikhura Sachkhere or simply Chikhura, is a Georgian football club based in Sachkhere. After the 2022 season they were relegated to Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian league system. History Founded in 1938, during World War II the club was disbanded, but later they resumed participation in low leagues of the republican championship. Since 2002 Chikhura has been financed by the Georgian businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili. The club spent many years in lower divisions before getting promoted to Umaglesi Liga in 2012. FC Meshakhte is a Georgian association football club based in Tkibuli. Following the 2022 season, the club was relegated to Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football system. History Meshakhte participated in the Georgian Soviet league and twice, in 1980 and 1981, became champions. In 1964 and 1976 they also won the domestic Cup. FC Adeli Batumi
FC Adeli Batumi is a defunct Georgian football club from Batumi, Adjara. They spent several seasons in the third and second divisions before dissolution in 2015. History Adeli won the third tier in 2009 and advanced to Pirveli Liga where they took part in five seasons. In 2012, the team finished in the drop zone, although avoided relegation following the Georgian Football Federation's decision to increase the number of participating teams. Three years later the 1,500-seater Adeli stadium used by Dinamo Batumi, Adeli Batumi and a sport school was demolished by a development company, which had purchased the land for building a huge hotel complex. FC Dinamo Batumi is a Georgian football club based in Batumi, Adjara, and current vice-champion of Erovnuli Liga, the top division of Georgian football system.
