2010 Formula D Season
The 2010 Formula D season (officially titled Formula Drift Pro Championship) was the seventh season for the Formula D series. The series began on April 10 on the streets of Long Beach and concluded on October 9 at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale after seven events. With two victories at Long Beach and Infineon Raceway, Vaughn Gittin took his first Formula D title by 63.5 points, taking the first non-Nissan championship since 2006. Tanner Foust's Scion tC finished second in the championship, having taken victories at Evergreen Speedway and Irwindale, but Gittin's consistent finishing gave him the advantage over Foust. Ryan Tuerck finished third in the championship, despite not winning any of the seven events to be held. Daijiro Yoshihara finished fourth after taking successive victories at Road Atlanta and Wall Township Speedway. Formula D
Formula Drift (also known as Formula D) is a United States-based motorsport drifting series. Formula Drift, Inc. was co-founded by Jim Liaw and Ryan Sage in 2003 as a sister company to Slipstream Global Marketing, the same partnership that introduced D1 Grand Prix to the United States. The new entity would solely own, operate and launch the first official drifting series in North America. Formula D is not affiliated with the FIA series of formula racing championships. With 60 currently licensed drivers competing in PRO and PROSPEC (formerly PRO 2), Formula Drift is recognized as the premier North American professional drifting championship series. Chris Forsberg
Christopher Forsberg (born April 6, 1982), is a self-taught, three-time Formula Drift Champion and Formula Drift World Champion race car driver from Doylestown, Pennsylvania who currently competes in the Formula Drift series in his Nissan Z (Z34) for NOS Energy Drink. He is the owner, lead driver and shop manager of Forsberg Racing. Considered an ironman in the sport, Forsberg has competed in every round of Formula Drift since 2004. During this time he’s amassed the all time head to head battle wins and most podium finishes in Formula Drift history. Forsberg Racing with Bryan Heitkotter as their driver will compete in the 2021 Gridlife Touring Cup wheel to wheel racing championship. Their entry is a Nissan 370z. Darren McNamara
Darren 'D-Mac' McNamara (born 10 September 1982) is a professional drift driver from Cork, Ireland. McNamara first competed in the Irish Prodrift series and the British D1 Great Britain series (now EDC), winning the Prodrift title in 2006. He drove a Toyota AE86 with a Nissan SR20 engine. In 2007 he was invited to compete in the American Formula D series. He achieved his maiden win at Wall Speedway and a second place at Road Atlanta. In the 2012 Formula D Season, McNamara started at Long Beach in the Falken Tire Saturn Sky. After a crash in his top 32 battle with Kenneth Moen, the Sky was damaged and not usable for future competition. For Round 2 and 3, he drove the Falken Tire 350Z, formerly driven by Tyler McQuarie. Irwindale is a city in the San Gabriel Valley, in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 1,422 at the 2010 census, down from 1,446 at the 2000 census. : The Nissan 350Z (known as Nissan Fairlady Z (Z33) in Japan) is a two-door, two-seater sports car that was manufactured by Nissan Motor Corporation from 2002 until 2009 and marks the fifth generation of Nissan's Z-car line. The 350Z entered production in 2002 and was sold and marketed as a 2003 model from August 2002. The first year there was only a coupe, as the roadster did not debut until the following year. Monroe is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States.
