Major League Lacrosse
Major League Lacrosse (MLL) was a men's field lacrosse league in the United States. The league's inaugural season was in 2001. Teams played anywhere from ten to 16 games in a summertime regular season. This was followed by a four-team playoff for the championship trophy, the Steinfeld Trophy, named after founder Jake Steinfeld. League attendance peaked at 6,417 in 2011 and the 2019 average was 4,587. The Chesapeake Bayhawks and New York Lizards (originally the Baltimore Bayhawks and Long Island Lizards) were MLL members throughout its existence and competed in the first three championship games, with the Lizards winning two. The Boston Cannons, the last of the six charter franchises to remain in their original market with their original name, won their first championship in 2011. The Philadelphia Barrage returned to the league in 2020 after an 11-season hiatus. After moving from Bridgeport to Philadelphia, the Barrage won three championships in four years from 2004 to 2007. Kenny Nims (born March 21, 1987) was a lacrosse player for the Chicago Machine of Major League Lacrosse. He played college lacrosse College lacrosse is played by student-athletes at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. Maxwell Oren Seibald (born August 14, 1987) is a former professional lacrosse player for the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse. He played midfield position. He graduated in 2009 from Cornell University. He is a former Tewaaraton Award winner, and two-time Team USA player. He played for Team Israel in 2018. Early and personal life Seibald is from Hewlett, New York, and is Jewish. He is the son of Jack (who was born on the Caribbean island of Curaçao) and Stephanie Seibald, and has two older sisters. Zack Greer (born February 12, 1986 in Whitby, Ontario) is a Canadian professional lacrosse player who plays for the Las Vegas Desert Dogs of the National Lacrosse League. Greer attended high school at All Saints Catholic Secondary School in Whitby, and grew up playing box lacrosse. Greer's brother, Bill, plays for the Toronto Rock in the National Lacrosse League. Greer's cousin Shawn Thornton played in the National Hockey League for 14 seasons from 2002-2017. Brandon Corp (born March 2, 1987) was a lacrosse player for Colgate University in Division I college lacrosse and the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse. Corp played for the Raiders from 2006 to 2009 leading the team to a 42 and 20 record during his four years, ending up as the 4th leading scorer in the nation his senior season, and leading the team to a Patriot League title and an NCAA tournament appearance as a junior. Dan Glading (born December 17, 1986 in Bethesda, Maryland) is a lacrosse player, nicknamed Danny Glading who played at the University of Virginia and currently plays in Major League Lacrosse for the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Danny Glading played in high school for Georgetown Prep, a school regularly nationally ranked in lacrosse. Glading played attack for the Virginia Cavaliers from 2006 to 2009, leading the team to an NCAA Championship in 2006. He was named an All-American three times by the USILA and was a finalist for the 2009 Tewaaraton Trophy, given annually to the nation's best lacrosse player. Sid Smith (born July 24, 1986 in Six Nations, Ontario) is an Iroquois lacrosse player who plays for the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League. Junior career Smith played for the Six Nations Arrows of the OLA Junior A Lacrosse League. Smith would lead the Arrows to four straight league championships. Smith won the John "Gus" McCauley Memorial Trophy as the league’s Defender of the Year in both 2006 and 2007. Brian Christopher (lacrosse)
Brian Christopher (born June 16, 1987), of Springfield, Pennsylvania, was an All American lacrosse player for Johns Hopkins University in Division I college lacrosse. Christopher played for the Blue Jays from 2006 to 2009 helping the team to an NCAA Championship in 2007, an NCAA Finals in 2008, and was named third team All American. Over the Blue Jays final four games in 2009 Christopher scored the game winning overtime goals in three of those games including Hopkins' 2009 quarterfinal overtime 12-11 win over Brown. The Denver Outlaws selected Christopher with the fourteenth pick of the 2009 MLL draft. He was subsequently picked up by Toronto Nationals in the 2011 supplemental draft. Corey Small (born March 23, 1987 in St. Catharines, Ontario) is a Canadians, Canadian lacrosse player who plays for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and formerly the Hamilton Nationals in Major League Lacrosse. High school career Small attended Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School (St. Catharines), Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in St. Catharines. During his senior year at Holy Cross, he helped lead the Raiders to a OFSAA, provincial championship.
