Brian Christopher (lacrosse)
Brian Christopher (born June 16, 1987), of Springfield, Pennsylvania, was an All American lacrosse player for Johns Hopkins University in Division I college lacrosse. Christopher played for the Blue Jays from 2006 to 2009 helping the team to an NCAA Championship in 2007, an NCAA Finals in 2008, and was named third team All American. Over the Blue Jays final four games in 2009 Christopher scored the game winning overtime goals in three of those games including Hopkins' 2009 quarterfinal overtime 12-11 win over Brown. The Denver Outlaws selected Christopher with the fourteenth pick of the 2009 MLL draft. He was subsequently picked up by Toronto Nationals in the 2011 supplemental draft. Denver Outlaws
The Denver Outlaws were a Major League Lacrosse professional men's field lacrosse team based in Denver, Colorado, United States. They began playing in the MLL in 2006 as an expansion team. Since joining the league, the Outlaws have played in the championship game a league-record ten times. They have only missed the playoffs once in franchise history and have never had a losing season. The Outlaws regularly post the highest attendance in the league. The Outlaws won their first MLL Championship on August 23, 2014, defeating the Rochester Rattlers 12-11 and won their second MLL Championship in 2016, defeating the Ohio Machine 19–18. Lacrosse
Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. It is the oldest organized sport in North America, with its origins with the indigenous people of North America as early as the 12th century. The game was extensively modified by European colonists, reducing the violence, to create its current collegiate and professional form. Players use the head of the lacrosse stick to carry, pass, catch, and shoot the ball into the goal. College lacrosse is played by student-athletes at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The Hamilton Nationals were a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) professional men's field lacrosse team based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. They began play in the 2009 season in Toronto, Ontario as the Toronto Nationals, becoming the first-ever Canadian MLL team. In 2009, they played their home games at BMO Field, which is also home to Major League Soccer's Toronto FC but moved to the smaller Lamport Stadium for the 2010 season.
