The 2008 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series was an exciting season of racing and the second season of the series. Scott Steckly, who dominated many events He won three of the first four events of the year fought off a late season charge from Thomson Jr. to become the series second ever champion winning by a margin of 24 points. Scott Steckly
Scott Steckly (born March 2, 1972) is a Canadian professional stock car racing driver and team owner. In his nine years competing in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, he drove the No. 22 Dodge Charger for his own 22 Racing team. He is the 2008, 2011, 2013, and 2015 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Champion. He currently fields the No. 18 Chevrolet Camaro full-time for Alex Tagliani, the No. 22 Camaro full-time for Marc-Antoine Camirand, and the No. 24 Camaro full-time for Donald Theetge. Racing career Steckly made his debut in CASCAR Super Series in 2000 season, driving the No. 22 for his own team. Steckly ran in CASCAR Super Series from 2000 to 2006 season when NASCAR purchased CASCAR and created the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2007 season. Dodge is an American brand of automobiles and a division of Stellantis, based in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Kawartha Speedway
Kawartha Speedway is a 3/8 mile paved oval located in Fraserville, Ontario, approximately 10 km southwest of Peterborough. The paved track is within the harness racing track, temporary grandstands are brought onto the harness racing tracks surface. In 2006, Kawartha Speedway held the final CASCAR Super Series race before it became the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2007. Since 2004, Kawartha was the host of the CASCAR Super Series finale. Riverside International Speedway
Riverside International Speedway is a 1/3 mile, high banked, asphalt short track located in James River, Nova Scotia, Canada, about ten kilometres southwest of the town of Antigonish. Track history Riverside International Speedway started out as a dream Antigonish businessman John Chisholm, who was an avid racing fan and was determined to advance his favourite sport in his home province. In 1967 Chisholm flew down to Bristol Motor Speedway and met with NASCAR co-founder Bill France, Sr., who gave him permission to model the track after a scaled-down version of Bristol. The ''2008 Coke Zero 200 Pres. by Sicard Holiday Campers'', the second running of the Coke Zero 200, was a NASCAR Canadian Tire Series racing event that was held on August 30, 2008, at Cayuga Speedway (now Jukasa Motor Speedway) in Haldimand County's community of Nelles Corners.
