2003–04 FC Porto Season
FC Porto became the 12th club to win multiple European Cup/ Champions League titles in a fairytale 2003–04 season. For the first time since 1995, a club outside the big four leagues won the trophy, and it was widely attributed to charismatic coach José Mourinho. The title was clinched in an emphatic 3–0 victory against Monaco in the final in Gelsenkirchen. Following the success, Mourinho departed the club for Chelsea, bringing key defenders Paulo Ferreira and Ricardo Carvalho with him. Playmaker Deco also departed, in his case for Barcelona. Elsewhere, it got to keep midfield duo Maniche and Costinha intact, and strikers Derlei and Benni McCarthy stayed at the club. Futebol Clube do Porto, MHIH, OM (), commonly known as FC Porto or simply Porto, is a Portuguese professional sports club based in Porto. Luanda
Luanda () is the capital and largest city in Angola. It is Angola's primary port, and its major industrial, cultural and urban centre. Pedro Emanuel dos Santos Martins Silva (born 11 February 1975), known as Pedro Emanuel, is a Portuguese retired footballer who played mainly as a central defender, currently manager of Saudi Arabian club Khaleej FC. In his 16-year professional career he was closely associated with the two biggest teams in Porto, Boavista – he helped it win its first and only Primeira Liga title in 2001 – and FC Porto, being team captain of both. Jorge Paulo Costa Almeida (born 14 October 1971) is a Portuguese retired footballer who played as a central defender, currently manager of Académico de Viseu. Bruno Miguel Esteves do Vale (born 8 April 1983) is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He spent most of his professional career in Cyprus with Apollon Limassol after being formed at Porto, appearing in more than 300 competitive matches for the former club. Vanderlei Fernandes Silva (born 14 July 1975), known as Derlei, is a Brazilian former footballer who played as a striker. He spent most of his 16-year professional career in Portugal (one full decade), having represented all three most important clubs in the country and amassing Primeira Liga totals of 187 matches and 70 goals.
