2024 Australia Cup
The 2024 Australia Cup is the eleventh season of the Australia Cup, the main national soccer knockout cup competition in Australia. This edition will be the third under the new name of the "Australia Cup" following the renaming of Football Federation Australia to Football Australia. Thirty-two teams will contest the competition proper. Sydney FC were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Oakleigh Cannons in the Round of 32. The winner is also expected to qualify to the group stage of the AFC's 2025–26 AFC Champions League Two competition. Round and dates For the first time in the competition's history, the draws for the round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals are combined. The Australia Cup, formerly known as the FFA Cup until the 2021 season, is the national football knockout cup competition in Australia. This annual competition is organised by Football Australia, formerly known as Football Federation Australia until 2020. The Australia Cup comprises teams from the top division, A-League Men (known as simply the A-League before the 2021–22 season), as well as those from lower tiers in the Australian soccer league system. Teams enter in progressive stages, with qualifying rounds culminating with the competition proper, starting with the Round of 32. Each state and territory-based member federation is granted a team allocation for entry into the main competition, joining clubs from A-League Men. It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues. Lambton Jaffas Football Club is an Australian soccer club based in Lambton a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales. They compete in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW, the highest division of the New South Wales Football Leagues. History Lambton Jaffas started off as the senior team of ''Lambton Soccer Club'' which was established in 1957. The club prospered during the 1960s, with the clubs first All Age side being established in 1968. In 1969, the club was invited to participate in the 2nd Division Competition by the Northern NSW Soccer Federation, to replace Dudley Redhead. The National Premier Leagues Northern NSW is a regional Australian Professional association football league comprising teams from Northern New South Wales. As a subdivision of the National Premier Leagues, the league sits at Level 1 on the Northern New South Wales league system (Level 2 of the overall Australian league system). The competition is administered by Northern NSW Football, the governing body of the sport in the northern region of the state (the southern region is mostly governed by Football NSW). Edgeworth Football Club is an Australian semi-professional football club based in the suburb of Edgeworth, near Newcastle, New South Wales. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW. History The suburb of Edgeworth was known as Young Wallsend until 1960. North West Sydney Spirit FC is an Australian soccer club. It was the successor of the defunct Northern Spirit FC, a professional soccer club based in North Sydney, Sydney, New South Wales.
