NWS Spirit
North West Sydney Spirit FC is an Australian soccer club. It was the successor of the defunct Northern Spirit FC, a professional soccer club based in North Sydney, Sydney, New South Wales. Northern Spirit entered the National Soccer League in the 1998–99 season. Its founding was inspired in part by the success Perth Glory was enjoying as a mainstream club (as opposed to the league's mainstay European migrant founded clubs), as well as an opportunity to tap into the previously unrepresented northern suburbs of Sydney. Pittwater Park
Pittwater Park is a rugby stadium in Warriewood, New South Wales, Australia. It is located 500 metres from North Narrabeen beach within the reserve of the area. The park is more colloquially known as Rat Park being named after the Warringah Rugby Club whose official mascot is a rat. The ground was established in 1971, over the years, basic facilities have been added, such as the 1,000-seat grandstand, clubhouse, and training field. Lights have also been installed on the main field. It is mainly used for rugby union and has been the home ground of the Warringah Rugby Club since 1975. The stadium has a capacity of 6,000. Lawrie McKinna
Lawrie McKinna (born 8 July 1961) is a Scottish-Australian former football player, coach, and former Mayor of Gosford City Council. In 2012, McKinna stood for election as an independent for City of Gosford. Lawrie was successful in gaining a seat, and was elected by his fellow councillors Mayor of Gosford City on 24 September. He was removed from his position as Mayor, as a result of the amalgamation of Gosford and Wyong Councils on 12 May 2016. Lawrie unsuccessfully stood as a candidate in the September 2013 Federal election for the seat of Robertson. His campaign was backed by John Singleton to the tune of $380,000. While receiving 8.7% of the vote, Singleton and McKinna controversially decided the outcome of the seat by directing preference votes to the conservative Liberal Party candidate Ms Lucy Wicks. 2022 Waratah Cup
The 2022 Waratah Cup was the 20th season of Football NSW's knockout competition. The preliminary rounds are now a part of the Australia Cup competition. The 4 winners from the Australia Cup preliminary Seventh round qualified for the Waratah Cup. The Cup was won by NWS Spirit, their first title. Format Preliminary rounds New South Wales clubs, other than Northern NSW and A-League clubs, participate in the 2022 Australia Cup via the preliminary rounds. The competition is for all Senior Men's teams of the National Premier Leagues NSW, NSW League One, NSW League Two, NSW League Three, as well as Association teams which applied to participate. Waratah Cup
The Waratah Cup is a knockout cup competition in New South Wales, run by the governing body of football in NSW, Football NSW. Teams competing in the Waratah Cup come from the National Premier Leagues NSW, National Premier Leagues NSW 2, National Premier Leagues NSW 3, National Premier Leagues NSW 4 and numerous other semi professional & amateur association clubs within New South Wales. The Cup is held during the NPL NSW seasons. Since 2014 preliminary rounds of the Waratah Cup have been used to determine the NSW entrants to the national FFA Cup competition, now known as the Australia Cup. The Football NSW 2013 season was the first season under the new competition format in New South Wales. The competition consisted of four divisions across the State of New South Wales, created from the teams in the previous structure. The National Premier Leagues (NPL) is a national association football competition in Australia which acts as the second tier of the sport in the country below the A-League.
