2023–24 Kerala Blasters FC Season
The 2023–24 season was the List of Kerala Blasters FC seasons, tenth season in Kerala Blasters FC's existence, as well as their tenth season in the Indian Super League. It began in August 2023 with the 2023 Durand Cup and ended in April 2024 with the 2023–24 Indian Super League playoffs. Following the 2022–23 Kerala Blasters FC season, 2022–23 season, the Blasters parted ways with their long-time assistant coach Ishfaq Ahmed, captain Jessel Carneiro, and their then-most-capped player, Sahal Abdul Samad. The club also made their most expensive signing its history by paying FC Goa a reported fee of ₹1.45 crores for the transfer of Aibanbha Dohling on a three-year contract. The Blasters played three friendly matches during their pre-season camp in Kerala, before travelling to United Arab Emirates for playing out three friendly matches against UAE Pro League sides. Kerala Blasters Football Club (), commonly referred to simply as Blasters, is an Indian association football, professional football club based in Kochi, Kerala, that competes in the Indian Super League (ISL), the top tier of football in India. Aibanbha Kupar Dohling (born 23 March 1996) commonly known as Aiban, is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters. Club career Early career Born in Sohra, Meghalaya, Aiban started his career in the youth ranks of Shillong Lajong. Sahal Abdul Samad (born 1 April 1997) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Indian Super League club Mohun Bagan and the India national team. Jessel Allan Carneiro (born 14 July 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League. Ishfaq Ahmed (born 17 March 1983) is an Indian football coach and former footballer. He is currently serving as the head coach of the I-League club Real Kashmir and the India national under-17 football team. He is also a member of the AIFF technical committee. The 2023 Durand Cup (also known as IndianOil Durand Cup due to sponsorship ties with the Indian Oil Corporation) was the 132nd edition of Durand Cup, the oldest association football, football tournament in Asia, and the second edition since it was supported by the Asian Football Confederation. The Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, also locally known as Kaloor Stadium, is a football stadium in Kochi, Kerala, India.Initially, it had a capacity 80,000 to 100,000 spectators, which was limited since 2017 for the Indian Super League (ISL), after it hosted 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup under FIFA security guidelines. 2024–25 Kerala Blasters FC Season
The 2024–25 season is the eleventh season in Kerala Blasters FC's existence, as well as their eleventh season in the Indian Super League. Following the conclusion of the 2023–24 season, the Blasters started preparations for the new season right-away as just one week after their elimination from the 2023–24 league playoffs, the Blasters announced the departure of their head coach Ivan Vukomanović, who left the club as the most successful head coach in the history of the club, after his three years at the club. Vukomanović was replaced by the Swedish manager Mikael Stahre, who joined the club on a two-year contract in May 2024.
