2023 OFC Futsal Nations Cup
The 2023 OFC Futsal Nations Cup was the 14th edition of the OFC Futsal Nations Cup (previously called the OFC Futsal Championship), the international futsal championship organised by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) for the men's national teams of Oceania. It was held in New Zealand from 1 to 7 October 2023. New Zealand were the defending champions, after defeating Solomon Islands in the 2022 final. The winner qualified as the OFC representative at the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan. Micah Lea'alafa
Micah Lea'alafa (born 1 June 1991) is a Solomon Islands professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for FK Beograd and captains the Solomon Islands national team. Career After failing to qualify for the 2014-15 OFC Champions League with Solomon Warriors, Lea'alafa moved abroad to Vanuatu to play for OFC Champions League runners-up Amicale. Following an unsuccessful trial at an unnamed club in Italy, Lea'alafa moved to Oceanian champions Auckland City in 2015. In July 2019 he joined the South African club Maritzburg United. He was released by the club in February 2020. Internationally, Lea'alafa made his debut for the Solomon Islands national team on March 24, 2016 in their 2–0 victory against Papua New Guinea. The 1996 Oceanian Futsal Championship (OFC) was the second edition of the main international futsal tournament of the Oceanian region. It took place from August 3 to August 8, 1996, and was hosted by Port Vila, Vanuatu. The tournament also acted as a qualifying tournament for the 1996 FIFA Futsal World Championship in Spain. The 2019 OFC Futsal Nations Cup was the 12th edition of the OFC Futsal Nations Cup (previously called the OFC Futsal Championship), the international futsal championship organised by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) for the men's national teams of Oceania. In November 2018, it was announced that New Caledonia would host the competition. The tournament was held from 27 October to 2 November. The winner qualified as the OFC representative at the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup (originally 2020 but postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic) in Lithuania.
