2023 New Zealand National League
The 2023 New Zealand Men's National League was the third scheduled season of the National League since its restructuring in 2021; the 2021 National League was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in northern regions. 32 clubs compete in the competition, with four qualifying from the Northern League, three qualifying from the Central League and two qualifying from the Southern League for the National Championship phase. Each team can field a maximum of four foreign players as well as one additional foreign player who has Oceania Football Confederation nationality. Over the course of the season, each team must also ensure players aged 20 or under account for 10% of available playing minutes. New Zealand National League
The New Zealand Men's National League is a men's football league at the top of the New Zealand football league system. Founded in 2021, the New Zealand National League is the successor to the New Zealand Football Championship. The league will be contested by ten teams, with teams qualifying from their regional leagues. Four teams qualify from the Northern League, three qualify from the Central League, two qualify from the newly formed Southern League and the Wellington Phoenix Reserves are automatically given a spot each year. The regional leagues runs from March through to September, with each league having a varying number of games. The Championship phase runs after the completion of the regional phase with each team playing each other once, followed by a grand final. Sandringham, New Zealand
Sandringham is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. It is a multi-ethnic suburb with a population of over 12,000. Sandringham Village is a walk of a few hundred metres south along Sandringham Rd from the Outer Link bus route, and has a strong South Asian influence in restaurants and small supermarkets, Halal butchers and Bollywood movies. Kiwitea Street
Kiwitea Street, also known as Freyberg Field, is a multi-purpose stadium in the suburb of Sandringham in Auckland, New Zealand. It is used for football (soccer) matches and is the home stadium of both Auckland City FC and Central United. Terraced seating can accommodate 250 patrons. West Coast Rangers Football Club is an amateur football club based in Whenuapai, New Zealand. Formed in 2021 as an amalgamation between Waitakere City and Norwest United, West Coast Rangers previously competed in the Northern League which is part of the qualifying leagues for the New Zealand National League but were relegated after one season. The women's team currently competes in the New Zealand Women's National League. The club also competes in both the Chatham Cup and Kate Sheppard Cup, New Zealand's premier knockout tournaments for men and women. The Northern Regional Football League Division One, currently known as Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 1 for sponsorship reasons, is a semi-professional New Zealand association football league competition. The league includes football clubs located in the northern part of the North Island, with clubs from the Northland, Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty provinces. The league sits at step 3 of the New Zealand football pyramid. Birkenhead United AFC is an amateur football club based in Beach Haven, on the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. They currently compete in the Northern League. Club history The club was established as Birkenhead in 1960 before it amalgamated with Birkdale in 1963 taking its current name as Birkenhead United. Present day Since 1965, Birkenhead have mainly played either in Division 1 or Division 2 of the Northern League though they twice early on, made it into Premier Division in 1968 and 1970, only to be relegated again that same year. Ryan Keith De Vries (born 14 September 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Auckland City in the Northern League and the New Zealand National League.
