2023 Belgian Road Cycling Cup
The 2023 Belgian Road Cycling Cup (known as the Lotto Cycling Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the eighth edition of the Belgian Road Cycling Cup. The defending champion was Arnaud De Lie of , he was succeeded by his teammate Caleb Ewan. Events The event schedule was revealed in February 2023 and involves the same races as the previous season, with the only exception the Ronde van Drenthe which dropped out. Later throughout the season the Circuit Franco–Belge was removed and replaced by the returning Grote Prijs Jef Scherens, which was already part of the cup form 2016 to 2018. Belgian Road Cycling Cup
The Belgian Road Cycling Cup (also known as Lotto Cycling Cup after its sponsor) is a road bicycle racing competition established in 2016 and consists of a number of standalone one-day races, mostly in Belgium but since 2022 some are held as well in the Netherlands. In each race, the top 15 riders score points and the rider scoring the most points in total is crowned the Belgian Cycling Cup champion. A separate classification was kept for the best youngster and best team, but these have been cancelled since 2017 and 2018 respectively. The lead sponsor changed regularly throughout the years, causing the official name to change often as well: from 2016 to 2018 it was known as the ''Napoleon Games Cycling Cup'', from 2019 to 2021 as the ''Bingoal Cycling Cup'', in 2022 as the ''Exterioo Cycling Cup'', and since 2023 as the Lotto Cycling Cup. Mike Teunissen (born 25 August 1992) is a Dutch racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career He rode at the 2013 UCI Road World Championships, and was the winner of the World Under-23 Cyclo-cross Championships in 2013. He was named in the start list for the 2015 Vuelta a España. In June 2017, he was named in the startlist for the 2017 Tour de France. In 2019, he had a top 10 finish in Paris-Roubaix. He was named to the start list of the 2019 Tour de France, where he was intended to be a leadout man for Dylan Groenewegen. Late in stage one as the sprint trains were coming together there was a crash, which eliminated Groenewegen's chances and ruined the team's plans of getting the stage win and yellow jersey. Edward Theuns (born 30 April 1991) is a Belgian racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He rode for his national team at the 2014 UCI Road World Championships. Career Theuns made his debut for in 2014. He took his first victory in August 2014 in the Grote Prijs Stad Zottegem. In 2015, he began his season with four top-ten finishes at the Étoile de Bessèges, finishing fifth overall and winning the points classification. In October 2020, he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Vuelta a España, where he won stage 15.
