2022 W Series Singapore Round
The 2022 W Series Singapore round was the final round of the 2022 W Series, which took place at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, Singapore. The event was an undercard to the 2022 Formula One World Championship round at the same circuit. Originally scheduled at Suzuka International Racing Course for the W Series' debut at an Asian country, it was cancelled due to "unforeseeable operational challenges". The round was also scheduled to be the seventh of seventh rounds in the championship, before all remaining rounds were canceled due to financial issues. 2022 W Series
The 2022 W Series was the third season of the W Series motor racing championship. The championship was exclusively open to female racing drivers as a Formula Regional-level racing series in support of the 2022 Formula One World Championship. Jamie Chadwick became a three time champion following the cancellation of the remainder of the season on 10 October 2022. Entries The following drivers and teams competed in the 2022 W Series season. All teams used Hankook tyres, and ran two mechanically-identical Tatuus–Alfa Romeo F3 T-318 cars with two drivers. The rounds at Barcelona and Singapore used Tatuus–Toyota FT-60 cars loaned by Toyota Racing Series organiser Toyota Gazoo Racing New Zealand. Fabienne Wohlwend
Fabienne Wohlwend (born 7 November 1997 in Vaduz) is a female racing driver from Liechtenstein who competes in the W Series. Biography Formula 4 Wohlwend entered car racing in 2016, having been successful in junior karting in Liechtenstein and Switzerland. She debuted in the Italian F4 Championship with Aragón Racing, before a mid-season switch to DR Formula. She failed to qualify for the final at the first round in Misano (the series ran a unique format for said round after 41 cars entered a circuit with a capacity of 36) and, after the qualifying race system was abandoned, did not score any points during the course of the season - her best finish being an 11th place in the final race of the season at Monza. W Series (championship)
W Series is an all-female Formula racing, single-seater racing championship. The series' first season was in 2019; it featured twenty drivers contesting six races. History The W Series was publicly launched on 10 October 2018. Rumours about the creation of a female-only racing series had begun to circulate in November 2017. It was created in response to the lack of female drivers progressing to the highest levels of motorsport, particularly Formula 1. The series has the backing of a number of prominent members of the motorsport community, including former F1 driver David Coulthard and engineer Adrian Newey. For the 2019 W Series, inaugural season in 2019, all cars were operated by Hitech Racing, Hitech GP. Bianca Bustamante (born 19 January 2005) is a Filipino racing driver. She is currently competing for Prema Racing in the Formula 4 UAE Championship and F1 Academy. Career W Series From 31 January 2022 to 4 February 2022, Bustamante competed in a W Series test in Arizona, United States along with 14 other prospective drivers. Juju Noda
is a Japanese racing driver who most recently competed in the 2022 W Series. She is the daughter of former Formula 1 driver Hideki Noda. Early and personal life Juju Noda was born on 2 February 2006. She is the daughter of former Formula One driver Hideki Noda, and began karting at the age of 3. In 2018, Noda was featured in a micro-documentary created by Great Big Story. Career Early career Noda tested single-seater race cars on Japanese circuits from the age of 9. She made her official competition car debut in the 2019 Lucas Oil Winter Race Series, where she finished 14th overall. Bruna Alberti Tomaselli (born 18 September 1997 in Caibi) is a Brazilian female racing driver. She currently competes in the W Series. Biography Tomaselli began her professional career in Fórmula Junior Brasil, a category comparable to Formula Ford in other countries. Following two seasons there, she would move up to Fórmula 4 Sudamericana, run to Formula Renault 1.6 regulations – where she finished fourth in her second season. She moved to the United States in 2017, joining the Road to Indy through the U.S. F2000 National Championship. She undertook a part-time campaign initially, and signed with Team Pelfrey for a full-time campaign in 2018 – finishing 16th in the standings. Nerea Martí
Nerea Martí (born 2 January 2002 in Albalat dels Sorells) is a Spanish female racing driver. She currently competes in F1 Academy. Career Karting Martí began karting aged nine through her father's rental kart track. Late in her karting career, she was contracted to Fórmula de Campeones in an attempt to step up into professional racing. Lower formulae Martí made her single-seater debut in Spanish Formula 4 in 2019, scoring a podium in her first event. A pair of seventh places late in the season would see her finish 16th in the standings and 2nd in the female trophy behind Belén García. Emely de Heus (born 10 February 2003) is a Dutch racing driver competing in the 2022 W Series. Personal life De Heus was born in Mijnsheerenland, Netherlands. Her father is Bert de Heus, a veteran amateur driver in the 24H Series endurance racing championship. Her family own and operate De Heus Tractors, based in Mijnsheerenland. De Heus is currently studying for a degree in marketing and communications at the Johan Cruyff Institute. Ayla Ågren (born 23 July 1993 in Bærum) is a Norwegian-Swedish female racing driver. Representing Norway, she currently competes in the W Series. Biography Following a decade in karting across Europe and Scandinavia, Ågren moved to the United States to forge a professional career – first testing with the Skip Barber Racing School and then competing in their Summer Series, scoring four podiums and finishing eighth overall. Abigail Eaton (born 2 January 1992) is a British racing driver from the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. She starred as the test driver for the second and third series of ''The Grand Tour'', an Amazon Prime Video-exclusive motoring series. Eaton is a qualified racing instructor and a performance driving coach.
