W Series (championship)
W Series is an all-female single-seater racing championship. The series' first season was in 2019; it featured twenty drivers contesting six races. History The W Series was publicly launched on 10 October 2018. Rumours about the creation of a female-only racing series had begun to circulate in November 2017. It was created in response to the lack of female drivers progressing to the highest levels of motorsport, particularly Formula 1. The series has the backing of a number of prominent members of the motorsport community, including former F1 driver David Coulthard and engineer Adrian Newey. For the inaugural season in 2019, all cars were operated by Hitech GP. The 2019 championship consisted of six races, all of which were run in Europe in support of the 2019 DTM. The calendar for the 2020 W Series was announced in early 2020. Formula Three, also called Formula 3, abbreviated as F3, is a third-tier class of open-wheel formula racing. The various championships held in Europe, Australia, South America and Asia form an important step for many prospective Formula One drivers. Formula Regional
Formula Regional (FR) is an FIA-approved moniker for certified regional one-make Formula Three championships with the concept being approved during the FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting in December 2017. The first series under new regulations were launched in Asia and North America in 2018, followed by European counterpart in 2019 and Japanese in 2020. This step of FIA Global Pathway ladder serves to close the performance gap between Formula 4 (160 bhp) and global Formula 3 Championship (380 bhp), being powered by 270 bhp engines. On 13 December, it was announced that the Toyota Racing Series would be rebranded as Formula Regional Oceania Championhsip. The FIA Super Licence is a driver's qualification allowing the holder to compete in the Formula One World Championship. 2022 W Series
The 2022 W Series was the third season of the W Series motor racing championship. The championship was exclusively open to female racing drivers as a Formula Regional-level racing series in support of the 2022 Formula One World Championship. Jamie Chadwick became a three time champion following the cancellation of the remainder of the season on 10 October 2022. Entries The following drivers and teams competed in the 2022 W Series season. All teams used Hankook tyres, and ran two mechanically-identical Tatuus–Alfa Romeo F3 T-318 cars with two drivers. The 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship was a motor racing championship for Formula One cars which was the 72nd running of the Formula One World Championship.
