2022 Ladies European Tour
The 2022 Ladies European Tour was a series of golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world. The tournaments were sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). Schedule The table below shows the 2022 schedule. The season featured 34 events in 22 countries and a total purse of around €29 million, the greatest number of tournaments and prize money in the tour's 44-year history. Linn Grant
Linn Maria Grant (born 20 June 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour. As an amateur, she won the 2017 Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship and was in contention at the 2018 and 2020 U.S. Women's Open. Family and early years Grant is the grand-daughter of James Grant, a Scottish golf professional who emigrated from Inverness in Scotland to Helsingborg in Sweden. The Grant family has had a fair bit of success on Catriona Matthew's home track, North Berwick Golf Club. James won the Scottish Boys Championship on the course, and Linn won the British Amateur Stroke Play Championship there, 49 years later. James died when Linn was 6 years old. Aramco Team Series – Bangkok
The Aramco Team Series is a professional women's golf competition that is part of the Ladies European Tour (LET), first played in 2020. The inaugural tournament was played as the Saudi Ladies Team International at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) by the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia. It was the penultimate LET event of the 2020 season and followed the Aramco Saudi Ladies International. 2021 saw the competition expanded to become the Aramco Team Series, with four tournaments to be held in the United Kingdom, the United States, Spain and Saudi Arabia, each with a US$1 million prize fund. Format The tournament is a team competition with a total of 26 teams (36 in 2020 and 2021), each team consisting of three professionals and one amateur. Ana Peláez
Ana Peláez Triviño (born 22 March 1998) is a Spanish professional golfer and Ladies European Tour player. She won the 2022 Madrid Ladies Open in her debut tournament as a member. Amateur career Peláez was born in Málaga in 1998 and enjoyed an impressive amateur career, climbing to 11th spot in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. After a runner-up finish in 2014, she won the 2015 Annika Invitational Europe. She reached the semifinals of the 2015 Girls Amateur Championship. Both were qualifying events for the Junior Solheim Cup, where she made the team and represented Europe in 2015. The Comunidad de Madrid Ladies Open is a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour, first played in 2022. The tournament will be the first of the 2022 LET season to be played on European soil after events in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. The Women's NSW Open (Women's New South Wales Open) is a women's professional golf tournament held in New South Wales, Australia. It was first played on the ALPG Tour in 2006. Beginning in 2018, the tournament was co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour. It was held at Oatlands Golf Club until 2018, when it moved to Coffs Harbour Golf Club and started rotating. WPGA Tour Of Australasia
The WPGA Tour of Australasia, formerly known as the ALPG Tour, is a professional golf tour for women which is based in Australia. WPGA stands for Women's Professional Golfers' Association. The tour was founded as the Ladies Professional Golf Association of Australia (LPGAA) in 1972 by Alan Gillott, who also later on founded ''The Golfer'' newspaper, a free publication provided to golfers and golf clubs, Australia-wide. The LPGAA switched to ALPG Tour in 1991. The first events featured twelve competitors, and the early years were a struggle. However the long-term trend was of gradual expansion and by 2004 there were over 150 members. The season features about a dozen tournaments, usually played over the Australian summer between November and March. Meghan MacLaren (born 15 May 1994) is an English professional golfer and Ladies European Tour player. Early life and amateur career MacLaren starting playing golf at age 4 and attended The Ferrers Specialists Arts College between 2005 and 12, where she earned the Young Sportswoman of the Year award in 2009 and Upper School Sportsperson of the Year in 2010. Maja Sofia Stark (born 10 December 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer. She has six Ladies European Tour titles and earned LPGA Tour membership through her victory at the 2022 ISPS Handa World Invitational. As an amateur she was in contention at the 2020 and 2021 U.S. Women's Open, and after turning professional in August 2021 she won two tournaments in three starts on the Ladies European Tour.
