2022 European Weightlifting Championships
The 2022 European Weightlifting Championships are scheduled to be held in Tirana, Albania, from 28 May to 5 June 2022. The event was initially scheduled to be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, but this changed after a leadership dispute. Tirana
Tirana ( , ; aln, Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Shota Mishvelidze ( ka, შოთა მიშველიძე; born ) is a Georgian male weightlifter, and European Champion competing in the 62 kg category until 2018 and 61 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories. In 2021, he won the silver medal in the men's 61kg event at the 2021 World Weightlifting Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
