2022 European Under 23 Team Speedway Championship
The 2022 Team Speedway Junior European Championship was the 15th Team Speedway Junior European Championship season. It was organised by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme and was the second time that the event had an age limit of under 23 years of age. Qualifying events were staged at Pardubice in the Czech Republic and Elgane in Norway. The final took place on 9 October 2022 in Tarnów, Poland. The defending champions Poland national speedway team, Poland won again to claim the title for the 12th time. The Team Speedway Junior European Championship is an annual motorcycle speedway event for junior riders. The event is organised by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) from 2008 to 2012. Tim Sørensen (born 14 May 2000) is a speedway rider from Denmark. Speedway career Sørensen came to prominence during the 2020 season when he was part of the Danish team that won the silver medal at the 2020 Team Speedway Junior World Championship. The following year he was once again selected by Denmark for the event and won the silver medal again at the 2021 Team Speedway Junior World Championship. 2022 Speedway Of Nations 2
The 2022 Speedway of Nations 2 (SON2) was the 18th FIM Team Under-21 World Championship season. The one-off final took place on 29 July 2022 at the Vojens Speedway Center in Vojens, Denmark. Despite the change of name to Speedway of Nations 2 (SON2), the format remained the same as 2021 Team Speedway Junior World Championship, 2021 with seven teams - Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Great Britain, Latvia, Poland and Sweden competing for the title. Defending champions Poland national under-21 speedway team, Poland won their 15th Team Under-21 World Championship and ninth in succession. They topped the scoring charts during the main meeting, and then won the Grand Final against the Czech Republic. Jason Edwards (born 14 September 2002) is a British speedway rider. Career In 2017, Edwards made a number of guest appearances at reserve after he turned 15 as he was then eligible to ride. He made his National league debut for Lakeside Hammers on 29 September 2017 against Belle Vue Colts, he had an excellent debut scoring 9+1 from 5 rides. Edwards made more appearances for Lakeside and also rode some meetings for Eastbourne Eagles. In 2018, he moved from reserve into the main Eastbourne team for the first time, riding at number 2 for the rest of the season. Drew Kemp (born 11 August 2002) is a British motorcycle speedway rider. Career In 2019, riding for Kent Kings Kemp won the Division 3 Pairs with Anders Rowe, the National Trophy and finished runner-up in the NDL Riders' Championship behind his teammate Rowe. He reached the final of the 2019 U19 European Championship. Kemp joined Eastbourne Eagles on 19 November 2019, for their 2020 SGB Championship season. Thomas Brennan (born 2 July 2001) is a British speedway rider. Career In 2016, Brennan made a number of guest appearances at reserve for Eastbourne Eagles after he turned 15 and was eligible to ride in the National League. He made his debut for Eastbourne on his 15th birthday against Birmingham Brummies, however he crashed in his first ride and suffered a broken collarbone. Brennan retained his spot for Eastbourne for the 2017 season. A good start to the season saw him move from reserve to number 1, before he moved to number 4 for the majority of the season. Leon Flint (born 22 February 2003) is a speedway rider from England. Career Flint began his British speedway career riding for Birmingham Brummies during the 2018 National League speedway season.
