2021–22 Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. Season
The 2021–22 season was the 144th in the history of Wolverhampton Wanderers and the 4th consecutive in the Premier League. The club also competed in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. This was the first season under former Benfica manager Bruno Lage, who was appointed on 9 June 2021 following the departure of Nuno Espírito Santo by mutual consent at the end of the previous season. Pre-season friendlies The club's pre-season schedule included friendlies against Crewe Alexandra, Real Betis, Stoke City, Coventry City and Celta Vigo, in addition to two friendlies behind closed doors against Forest Green Rovers and Al Shabab. Bruno Lage
Bruno Miguel Silva do Nascimento (born 12 May 1976), known as Bruno Lage (), is a Portuguese football manager who currently manages Primeira Liga club Benfica. During his first tenure as coach of Benfica in Portugal, he won the 2018–19 league title and the 2019 Super Cup. He then spent just over a season as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League, followed by a brief spell at Brazilian club Botafogo before returning to Benfica in 2024. Career Early career Born in Setúbal, Lage's father Fernando Lage Nascimento was formerly a manager in the Portuguese lower leagues. Lage started his coaching career in the youth ranks of hometown club Vitória de Setúbal in 1997. Gresty Road or the Alexandra Stadium, currently known as the Mornflake Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in Crewe, Cheshire, England. The home ground of Crewe Alexandra, it has an all-seated capacity of 10,153. Chris Long (footballer)
Christopher Michael Long (born 25 February 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Crewe Alexandra. He is a product of the Everton Academy. Long has represented England from U16 to U20 level. Club career Everton A forward, Long grew up in Huyton and represented the town at schoolboy level. Long joined the Everton academy as a five-year-old in 2000 and worked his way up through the youth ranks.
