2021–22 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup
The 2021–22 Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup was a season-long cyclo-cross competition, organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup took place between 10 October 2021 and 23 January 2022. This season the number of races was expanded to 16, whereas in regular seasons most recently only about 9 were organized. The intention was to already expand to 14 races during the 2020–21 season, but as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the previous season was reduced to five races only. The defending champions were Wout van Aert in the men's competition and Lucinda Brand in the women's competition. Points distribution Points were awarded to all eligible riders at each race. From this season, the points awarded are according to the same scale for all categories, but only the top 25 riders receive points rather than the top 50. The UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup is a season-long competition in cyclo-cross, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). First held in the 1993–1994 season, there are currently five awards, tailored to the different categories of riders: Men Elite, Women Elite, Men Under 23, Women Under 23, and Men Junior. Mees Hendrikx
Mees Hendrikx (born 8 August 2000) is a Dutch cyclist, who currently rides for the IKO–Crelan team in cyclo-cross, and UCI Continental team for his road races. Career Hendrikx was a promising junior rider, winning the junior race at the Grand Prix Nommay, part of the 2017–18 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup where he finished third in the overall classification with four podium finishes in 7 races. After a disappointing, injury-riddled winter season in 2018-2019 he couldn't find a team. As an independent rider, he achieved more success in the next cyclo-cross season, culminating in his selection for the Dutch team for the 2020 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Switzerland, where he won the bronze medal in the U23 category. Overijse
Overijse () is a municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant, in Flanders, Belgium. It is a suburb of the wider Brussels metropolitan area. The municipality comprises the town of Overijse, and the communities of Eizer, Maleizen, Jezus-Eik, Tombeek and Terlanen. On December 31, 2008, Overijse had a total population of 24,410. Vlaamse Druivenveldrit Overijse
The Vlaamse Druivenveldrit is a cyclo-cross race held in Overijse, Belgium. The race is organised by the VZW Sportvrienden Overijse and was first held in 1960. The race is regarded as a Cyclo-cross classic and has a difficult and dangerous parcours that often results in crashes. History Two members of the Overijse cycling club, Frans Vanhoey and Joris Bergiers, originally organized the event in 1960. Up until 1989 the race was usually held twice a year and was held three times in 1975. Denise Betsema (born 23 January 1993) is a Dutch cyclo-cross cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Cyclo-cross team . Career In October 2018 Betsema joined the professional cyclo-cross team .
