Zonhoven (; li, Zoneve) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg near Hasselt. On January 1, 2018, Zonhoven had a total population of 21,214. The total area is 39.34 km2 which gives a population density of 506 inhabitants per km2. The municipality includes the hamlets Halveweg, Termolen, and Terdonk. History On November 18, 1833, the Treaty of Zonhoven was signed in the house named ''De Franse Kroon'' between representatives of the Netherlands and Belgium to establish special regulations over the use of the river Meuse by the signatories. Tim Wessel Vanhamel (born 11 December 1977 in Zonhoven, Belgium) is a Belgium, Belgian Rock music, rock musician who has been a member of and performed with a number of bands including Evil Superstars, Deus (band), Deus and Eagles of Death Metal. He is also the frontman of his own bands Millionaire (band), Millionaire and Eat Lions. Career Vanhamel played in his first band, Sister Poopoo, when he was 13. In 1995, at the age of 17, Vanhamel joined Evil Superstars as their guitarist. He played for the band until their split in 1998. He then played in Deus (band), Deus for a short time during their 'Ideal Crash' tour in 1999. In 2000, Vanhamel began recording the debut for his own band, Millionaire (band), Millionaire. Jos Vandeloo
Josephus Albertus "Jos" Vandeloo (5 September 1925 – 5 October 2015) was a Belgian writer and poet. Biography He grew up in a mining family from Zonhoven and graduated as a chemist for the mining industry. After the war he started working in the mine as a coal specialist and for this he travelled throughout Europe (up to 1953). At the same time he also studied Dutch and French literature at the ''Royal Academy'' and the ''Higher Institute for Arts'' in Antwerp. After his career in the mine (as deputy director), he became director of the Belgian division of the publisher ''Manteau'', which published a number of his works. In the sixties he was for a while sports commentator for the Belgian Radio and Television (BRT). Since 1963 he has lived in Mortsel near Antwerp. Hasselt (, , ; la, Hasseletum, Hasselatum) is a Belgian city and municipality, and capital and largest city of the province of Limburg in the Flemish Region of Belgium. Luc Gilbert Cyrille Nilis (born 25 May 1967) is a Belgian professional football manager and former player who is the head coach of Belgian Division 2 club Belisia Bilzen. Zornik
Zornik is a Belgian rock music, rock band. It was formed in 1999 by singer and guitarist Koen Buyse, drummer Marijn Horemans and bass guitarist Kristof Vanduren. History The band made it in 1999 to the finals of HUMO's Rock Rally rock contest, under the name Zornik Breknov. There, the band was spotted by Parlophone Belgium and MTC Management. This led to the recording of their first EP, ''Love Affair''. It stayed in Belgium's leading alternative charts at Studio Brussel, for more than 10 weeks since March 2001. The second EP, ''It's so unreal'', remained in the alternative charts for more than 20 weeks, reaching number 3. Diest () is a city and municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant.
