2021–22 FC Utrecht Season
The 2021–22 season is the 52nd season in the existence of FC Utrecht and the club's 52nd consecutive season in the top flight of Dutch football. In addition to the domestic league, FC Utrecht participated in this season's editions of the KNVB Cup. In the regular season, they have qualified for the play-offs, for this they played for a place in the second round of the UEFA Europa Conference League. FC Utrecht
Football Club Utrecht () is a Dutch professional football club based in Utrecht. The club competes in the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football, and plays its home matches at the Stadion Galgenwaard. The club was formed in 1970 as a merger between local clubs VV DOS, USV Elinkwijk and Velox. Since then, the club has won three national cup tournaments: in 1985, 2003 and 2004, also winning the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2004 as the first club outside the traditional Dutch '' Big Three''. AZ Alkmaar
Alkmaar Zaanstreek (), better known as AZ Alkmaar or simply AZ (), is a Dutch professional football club from Alkmaar and the Zaan district. The club plays in the Eredivisie, the highest professional football league in the Netherlands, and hosts home matches at the AFAS Stadion. AZ has won the Eredivisie twice, in 1980–81 and 2008–09. Nagoya Grampus
(formerly known as ) is a Japanese association football club that plays in the J1 League, following promotion from the J2 League in 2017. Based in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture and founded as the company team of the Toyota Motor Corp. in 1939, the club shares its home games between Mizuho Athletic Stadium (capacity 27,000 and the J.League's oldest serving stadium) and the much larger Toyota Stadium in the suburb of Toyota (capacity 45,000). The team had its most successful season up to 1995 when it was managed by Arsène Wenger, well known for his subsequent exploits at Arsenal. Naoki Maeda (footballer, Born 1994)
is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Urawa Red Diamonds. Career Naoki Maeda joined to J2 League club; Tokyo Verdy in 2012. In 2015, he moved to J1 League club; Matsumoto Yamaga. In 2016, he moved to Yokohama F. Marinos before rejoining Matsumoto in 2018. In January 2022 he was loaned to FC Utrecht of the Dutch Eredivisie on a six-month loan spell. Gyrano Kerk (born 2 December 1995) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a right winger for Belgian club Royal Antwerp on loan from the Russian Premier League club Lokomotiv Moscow. Club career Kerk started his club career at Utrecht in the Eredivisie. Kerk is a youth exponent from FC Utrecht. Adam Maher (born 20 July 1993) is a Dutch professional Association football, footballer who plays for Saudi Professional League club Damac FC as a midfielder. Club career Maher made his professional debut for AZ (football club), AZ on 15 December 2010 in a 2010–11 UEFA Europa League game against FC BATE Borisov and scored a goal on his debut. Hidde Willem ter Avest (born 20 May 1997) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a right-back. Club career Twente Ter Avest began his football journey at SVZW Wierden before joining the Twente academy at age eleven. His leadership skills shone as he captained various youth teams. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. Mark van der Maarel (born 12 August 1989) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a right-back. He played for Utrecht, where he has spent his entire professional career. Born in Arnhem, he is of Indonesian descent through his mother, who is from Indonesia. Maarten Vincent Paes (born 14 May 1998) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Major League Soccer club FC Dallas. The 2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League is the second season of the UEFA Europa Conference League, Europe's tertiary club football tournament organised by UEFA. The final will be played at Fortuna Arena in Prague, Czech Republic.
