2021 Skate America
The 2021 Guaranteed Rate Skate America was the first event in the 2021–22 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 22–24. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior-level equivalent is the ISU Junior Grand Prix. Skate America
Skate America is an international, senior-level figure skating competition held as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. It is hosted by U.S. Figure Skating. The location changes yearly. Medals are awarded in four disciplines: men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Shane Firus
Shane Firus (born February 21, 1994) is a Canadian ice dancer. With his skating partner, Carolane Soucisse, he is the 2018 Four Continents silver medallist. They have finished fourth at the 2017 and 2018 Canadian Championships and represented Canada on the Grand Prix circuit and at the World Championships. 2021–22 Grand Prix Of Figure Skating Final
The 2021–22 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and ISU Junior Grand Prix Final were scheduled to be held from December 9–12, 2021 at the Towa Pharmaceutical Ractab Dome in Osaka, Japan. The combined event was to be the culmination of two international series — the Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the Junior Grand Prix. Medals would have been awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance on the senior and junior levels. On December 2, 2021, the event was cancelled due to Japanese travel restrictions imposed in response to the Omicron variant (as part of the COVID-19 pandemic), with the possibility of postponement to the end of the season. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976.
