2021 Oakville Labour Day Classic
The 2021 Oakville Labour Day Classic was held from September 3 to 6 at the Oakville Curling Club in Oakville, Ontario, Oakville, Ontario. The total purse for the event was $15,000 on the men's side and $20,000 on the women's side. Team Jacobs, consisting of Brad Jacobs (curler), Brad Jacobs, Marc Kennedy, E. J. Harnden and Ryan Harnden won the men's event, defeating the Jonathan Beuk rink skipped by Tanner Horgan in the final which only went four ends. Jacobs blanked the first end before taking a big score of five in the second. Beuk followed this up with a score of two in the third but ultimately shook hands after a score of three by Jacobs in the fourth. Jacobs received $6,000 for their win while Beuk took home $3,000. To reach the final, Jacobs finished 5–0 through the round robin and knocked off Tyler Tardi 6–3 in the semifinal. Jonathan Beuk
Jonathan Beuk (born April 18, 1983) is a Canadian curler from Kingston, Ontario. Career While attending Queen's University, Beuk led his team of Andrew Inouye, Chadd Vandermade and Scott Chadwick to a gold medal at the 2010 CIS/CCA Curling Championships, Canada's University curling championship. The team represented Canada at the 2011 Winter Universiade, where they missed out on the playoffs, finishing with a 6–3 record. After University, Beuk joined the Jake Higgs rink, throwing second stones for the team. It was as a member of this team that Beuk played in his first provincial men's championship, the 2012 Dominion Tankard. There, the team finished with a 3–7 record. A lance is a spear designed to be used by a mounted warrior or cavalry soldier (lancer). Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada. Scott Chadwick (born January 16, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Napanee, Ontario. He currently plays lead on Team Tanner Horgan. In 2021, he competed at the 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. Career While at Queen's University at Kingston, Chadwick won the 2010 CIS/CCA Curling Championships and placed fifth the following year at the 2011 Winter Universiade in Erzurum, Turkey. Jacob Horgan
Jacob "Jake" Horgan (born April 7, 2000) is a Canadian curler, originally from Sudbury, Ontario. He currently plays second on Team Tanner Horgan. He is a seven-time Northern Ontario junior champion. Career Juniors As a bantam-aged curler, Horgan won three Northern Ontario titles (2010, 2013, and 2015). In 2012, he won the Ontario provincial elementary school championship, representing MacLeod Public School.
