2021 Jurassic X-Prix
The 2021 Jurassic X-Prix was an Extreme E off-road race that was held on 18 and 19 December 2021 at Bovington Camp, in Dorset, England. It was the fifth and last round of the electric off-road racing car series' inaugural season. A significant rule adjustment was introduced for the event to accommodate the short nature of the circuit, each session now consisting of three laps, with the starting driver, who in the final would be the female driver, taking the first two. The final was won by Cristina Gutiérrez and Sébastien Loeb for Team X44, ahead of JBXE and Andretti United Extreme E. Rosberg X Racing's Johan Kristoffersson and Molly Taylor came fourth to seal both the drivers' and the teams' championship. 2021 Extreme E Championship
The 2021 Extreme E Championship was the inaugural season of the Extreme E electric off-road racing series. It started on 3 April with the Desert X-Prix in Saudi Arabia. Calendar A provisional race schedule was announced on 17 December 2019, which would have seen a season start in January 2021 with an event in Senegal. But because of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic the start of the season was pushed back to spring 2021, and a race in Patagonia was presented to replace a Nepal-based event. On 11 June 2021, both South American events –planned to be held in Ushuaia, Argentina and Santarém, Brazil– were cancelled, with championship CEO Alejandro Agag stating they are "seeking alternate destinations". In late July, the Island X-Prix on Sardinia was announced as the first replacement race. A Jurassic X-Prix, due to take place in Dorset, was revealed in October as the new season finale. Off-roading
Off-roading is the activity of driving or riding in a vehicle on unpaved surfaces such as sand, gravel, riverbeds, mud, snow, rocks, and other natural terrain. Lance Woolridge
Lance Woolridge (born 30 July 1991) is a rally driver from South Africa. A two-time Class T champion in the South African Cross Country Series, he was signed by Veloce Racing as reserve driver for the inaugural season of the new electric off-road racing series Extreme E in 2021. Veloce Racing
Veloce Racing is a British motor racing team founded by Jean-Éric Vergne, Adrian Newey and Rupert Svendsen-Cook that competes in the all-electric off-road racing championship Extreme E and formerly in the all-female single-seater racing series, W Series. Extreme E 2021 Veloce joined Extreme E for its inaugural season in 2021, announcing 2019 W Series champion Jamie Chadwick and former F1 and WRC driver Stéphane Sarrazin as their line-up. The team, racing with technical support from ART Grand Prix, won their first podium in the series at the 2021 Ocean X-Prix. Jutta Kleinschmidt
Jutta Kleinschmidt (born 29 August 1962) is a German competitor of offroad automotive racing events. She is known for her numerous showings in the Paris Dakar Rally, and notably for having won the event in 2001, becoming the only woman driver to win the race and the only German to win the car category. In 2013, Kleinschmidt was named an FIM Legend for her motorcycling achievements. Biography She was born in Cologne, Germany, and grew up in Berchtesgaden, Upper Bavaria. She studied physics at Isny Polytech then worked at BMW. She raced her first Paris-Dakar Rally in 1988 on a BMW motorcycle. In 1994, she switched to driving a car and, in 1997, became the first woman to win a stage of the Rally. The following year, she was on the podium and, in 2001, she became the first woman to win the Rally. Mattias Ekström
Mattias Ekström (born 14 July 1978 in Falun, Sweden) is a racing driver from Sweden. He competed in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters for Audi from 2001 until his retirement in 2018, and has been competing in the FIA World Rallycross Championship, also for Audi, since its inception in 2014. He is a FIA World Rallycross Champion, a two-time DTM champion and a three-time winner of the Race of Champions. Career Ekström debuted in karting in 1993. The next years he competed at the Renault 5 Turbo Cup, winning the championship in 1996. The driver progressed to the Swedish Touring Car Championship in 1997, finishing runner-up with a Volvo 850. Molly Anne Taylor (born 6 May 1988 in Sydney) is an Australian rally car driver. She is the 2016 Australian Rally Champion, the first and only woman to win the Australian Rally Championship and the youngest regardless of gender, and the 2021 Extreme E Champion.
