ZZ Leiden
ZZ Leiden Basketball, also known as Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden, is a basketball club based in Leiden, Netherlands. The club plays in the BNXT League, the domestic first tier league. Their home games are played at Vijf Meihal, which has 2,000 seats. ZZ Leiden has won the national championship four times, the NBB Cup three times, the Dutch Supercup three times and the BNXT championship once. BAL Weert
Basketball Academie Limburg, commonly known as BAL, is a Dutch basketball club based in Weert in the province of Limburg. The club was founded in 2013 as an academy to develop youth players from the province of Limburg. The club entered the Dutch Basketball League for the 2017–18 season after the dissolution of the professional team BSW. Currently, the team plays in the BNXT League. In 2021, BAL won its first-ever trophy when it won the DBL Cup in surprising fashion as the team was ranked eight in the DBL that season. Vijf Meihal
The Vijf Meihal ( en, 5 May Hall) is a complex located in the Dutch city of Leiden. It has been used as a sports arena since 1968. In 2006 it became the home of Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden, a Dutch professional basketball team. Until 2010 the Vijf Meihal had a capacity of 700 people. This was expanded to 2,000 people in 2010. The expansion cost somewhere around 500,000 euros and did allow Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden to play in European competitions. The 2019 Dutch Basketball Supercup was the 8th edition of the Dutch Basketball Supercup. The game was played in the Landstede Sportcentrum in Zwolle for the first time. The game featured Landstede Hammers, the first-time defending champions of the 2018–19 Dutch Basketball League, and ZZ Leiden, the winners of the 2018–19 NBB Cup. Hammers won the game and secured its second Supercup title. Background It was the re-match of the 2018–19 NBB Cup final, which was also played in the Landstede Sportcentrum and was won by Leiden, 69–87. Landstede Hammers came off its first national title in club history and saw most of its players returning. The team strengthened itself with two new Americans, Jordan Johnson and Martez Walker. The 2022 Dutch Basketball Supercup was the 10th edition of the Dutch Basketball Supercup. The game was played on 28 September 2022 in the Maaspoort in 's-Hertogenbosch. The defending Dutch champions Heroes Den Bosch easily defeated Donar, winners of the 2021–22 Dutch Basketball Cup. Heroes won its third Supercup title. Dutch Basketball League
The Dutch Basketball League (DBL), formerly the Eredivisie, was the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands, run by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). Since 2021, the league has been replaced by the Belgian-Dutch BNXT League. The league had a closed system: to participate, a team has to have enough money and potential. The league began in 1960 as the ''Eredivisie'' and was organized by the NBB and later the FEB. In 1977 the league introduced play-offs. 2021 DBL Cup
The 2020–21 DBL Cup was the 53rd edition of the Netherlands' national basketball cup tournament. This season the format was changed due to the compressed playing schedule caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Only teams from the Dutch Basketball League participated this year and all games are to be played in one week. The season was one of the most surprising in Dutch basketball history, as seventh-seeded Yoast United and eight-seeded BAL reached the final. BAL won the final in the Landstede Sportcentrum to win its first-ever Cup title. Arūnas Mikalauskas (born 14 September 1997) is a Lithuanian basketball player for Crailsheim Merlins of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). Standing at , he plays as small forward. Career Born in Klaipėda, Mikalauskas started his career with his hometown team Neptūnas and the Vladas Knašius Basketball School. In 2019, Mikalauskas signed with Dutch side Aris Leeuwarden.
